Ballard Power Systems is the leading provider of innovative clean energy and fuel cell solutions. We are looking for an experienced Sales and Business Development Professional to join our North America Team to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets and maintaining our company’s market leadership in fuel cell solutions for E-Mobility markets such as Bus, Truck, Rail, Marine and Backup/Stationary Power.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all business-related matters
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets, foster account growth, and identify new business opportunities
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess their needs, address concerns, and provide solutions that meet their objectives
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts to maximize revenue generation
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to proactively identify potential threats and opportunities
- Prepare and present reports on account performance, sales forecasts, and market insights to internal stakeholders
- Manage contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions in collaboration with the sales team
- collaborate with product development teams to provide feedback and insight from clients, contributing to the development of new products/services
- Other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, mechanical/electrical engineering, marketing, or related field
- Proven experience in sales, key account management, or relevant customer relationship management roles (5-7 years)
- Knowledge of the industry or market in which Ballard operates
- Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce), other relevant sales tools and Microsoft software
- Strong business acumen and financial understanding
- Ability to travel to meet clients as needed

- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- High level of professionalism, self-motivated and excellent follow-through
- Backup/Stationary Power experience is preferred
