GMT Robotics – Robot Software Manager
GML-HR
Do you want a role at the forefront of robotics innovation in the steel reinforcement industry? Do you thrive in an environment where autonomy and flexibility are encouraged, and are you ready to take a leadership role in a smaller team?
Then this is your opportunity to join GMT Robotics as Robot Software Manager. In this role, you will have the potential to have a major impact as GMT Robotics continues to set new standards in the industry.
Welcome to GMT Robotics
GMT Robotics focuses primarily on the steel reinforcement market, and especially infrastructure projects worldwide.
The company’s goal is not to become a manufacturer of machines for processing reinforcing steel, but rather to concentrate exclusively on robotic solutions for 2D and 3D prefabricated cages. The primary goal is to fortify the position as a pioneer in this area.
The concepts are ground-breaking, and patents are being filed. Two patents have been successfully granted and received international registration.
Your new working day
You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge robotic systems for the steel reinforcement industry, where OTC-Nachi and Yaskawa are used.
You will work in a smaller organization where creativity, flexibility, and autonomy are valued, allowing you to take ownership of projects and make a significant impact.
Your primary tasks will be:
- Setting the direction for the company’s software development.
- Ensuring structure in work processes, in specification work and in the programming structure.
- Conduct research to identify innovative solutions and industry trends within all robotics, vision, and scanner technology, including visiting trade fairs.
- Develop documentation, specifications, and user manuals.
- Taking part in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software components.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers.
- Designing, developing, and testing robotic systems and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshooting and debugging newly developed products to ensure optimal performance.
You will be managing a team of currently three young but competent Robotic Engineers.
The team needs these competencies
You bring a relevant education in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar. You bring documented experience with designing and implementing robotic systems, where you have built a strong knowledge of robotic principles, including kinematics, dynamics, and control systems.
It is a must that you have experience programming Yaskawa, Fanuc or even Nachi robots, just as it will be an advantage if you have experience working in a start-up or small organization environment.
Your professional background is ideally characterized by the following:
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and simulation is an advantage.
- Integration experience with Siemens PLC systems and knowledge of TIA Portal.
- Knowledge of vision systems, ideally HALCON.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in coaching a team of developers
- Flexibility and open-mindedness to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to different stakeholders.
- Demonstrated portfolio of systems and machines developed.
Additional preferred skills:
- Experience with robotics programming languages such as C++, Python, or ROS.
- Knowledge of mechatronics and electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with robotics machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
Your opportunities at GMT Robotics
GMT Robotics’ vision is to be a leader in automated robotic solutions for the reinforcement industry, and the strategy is clear: “We don’t just want to follow the development – we want to lead it!”
To achieve this, employees are the key to success, which to a very large extent characterizes the company culture. You therefore enter an environment where your ideas are valued and where you can grow both professionally and personally.
There will also be a great deal of freedom to explore your own innovative ideas that can contribute to the company’s projects and ambitions.
