The position
As our new Validation Scientist, you will get up to speed and have a large responsibility. You will be part of a support team with approximately 11 dedicated and talented colleagues.
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for implementation and validation of equipment as well as optimizations and finding the right solutions for the API production.
- Handle change requests, deviations, validation protocols, reports, and solve bigger and smaller optimization projects across the department.
- Be working cross-functionally with colleagues both within and outside of the department to solve tasks within projects. The complexity of your tasks will increase with your experience.
- Be responsible for the Cleaning concept for chemical API production, purification and spraydrying in ChPP, with representation in the CMC process group.
In this role, you have a great opportunity to explore the opportunities that Novo Nordisk can provide. You will touch base with a wide variety of knowledge fields, such as R&D, GMP, Production facilities, Deviations, Quality Assurance, Health and safety, minor investments etc.

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
- A Master’s degree in natural science, engineering or equivalent combined with a technical interest in production equipment. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree complemented by 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
In addition to that, the optimal candidate has:
- Preferably experience within validation and equipment.
- Process and technical skills within operation of systems, building and construction, installation, and operational verification.
- Experience with the LEAN way of working/mindset.
- GMP experience.
- Fluency in English. Basic understanding of Danish is preferred, as most members of the production speaks Danish fluently.
As a person you are a strong team player who can collaborate well with a diverse group of stakeholders e.g., development chemists, project managers, and QA. You contribute with great spirit, initiative, and flexibility. You are known for your can-do attitude, are comfortable with practical tasks, and find it natural to bring your technical knowledge within operation of systems or processes into play when finding the right solution to a specific task. You can challenge existing ways of working while proactively driving implementation of new solutions.
About the department
In Chemistry Pilot Plant we are responsible for production of API to clinical studies where chemical synthesis, chromatographic purification, and spray drying is part of the production. The department is part of the area Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control API Pilots (CMC API Pilots) that has approx. 300 employees and are responsible for production of API to all developmental productions in Novo Nordisk. This includes fermentation, cultivation, chemical synthesis, and purification.
The support team is responsible for maintenance and support of equipment used in the production as well as process optimization regarding equipment. We drive investment projects of varying sizes continuously in the team and in collaboration with other teams to meet the future demands of the facility. LEAN principles are the fundament of how we work to continuously improve our processes and procedures.
