Frontend Chapter Lead

DFDS A/S

Curious about what a Chapter Lead is? At DFDS, we’ve innovated our Technology and Innovation Division to adopt a matrix organization rooted in Tribes and Chapters. In every tribe, three essential lead roles exist. One of them is the Chapter Lead.

Our Passenger Tribe is on the hunt for a proactive and experienced Frontend Chapter Lead. If you are passionate about guiding people and keen on spearheading advancements in our modern experience platform and component library, this role is tailor-made for you.

Be part of the movement - and play your part.
About the role
So, what is it like to be a Chapter Lead in DFDS? As a Chapter Lead, you lead, coach and mentor your employees to help them become the best possible professionals, you develop and lead the vision for what a professional is within the craft in close collaboration with the other chapter leads, and you inspire and create excitement around the future of the craft.

This means that you are a specialist and passionate about Frontend development, with the ability to coach, mentor, and lead people.

You will become part of the Technology & Innovation Division, be a Chapter Lead (line manager) for around 10 Frontend developers, and report to our Area Lead.

Your Dual Role:

    • Lead and grow: Beyond line management, foster growth by recruiting, training, developing, and evaluating the Frontend developers.
    • Stay Hands on: Dive deep into development as a contributing Frontend developer within your own Agile team.
Want to build a better platform with us?

You will use your hands-on experience as developer, to guide- and collaborate with your immediate team of frontend developers on the journey to fulfil the platform vision, as well as maturing the component library. You will actively contribute to our NextJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, and NodeJS-based web platform, driving its ongoing growth and improvement.

Beyond your immediate team, you will collaborate with all the developers from the Tribe on a regular basis too.

    About you
The Agile mindset is very defining for our culture and ways of working, and you need to either have experience with working agile or at least have an interest in following the Agile mindset and the Scrum/Kanban method.

To be considered for the position, we expect that you hold a bachelor- or master’s degree and that you have professional experience with the following:

    • Several years of experience in building Frontend applications
    • Strong knowledge of and experience with NextJS, React.js, Typescript, Contentful via GraphQL and REST
    • Experience with modern CI/CD build pipelines and tools
    • Practical experience with people management, informal leadership, or servant leadership.

Your interpersonal skills have a huge impact on your success in leading the Frontend chapter. This means that we emphasize relationship-building, inclusiveness, a focus on personal growth and well-being, and a holistic approach to decision-making. You must have the willingness to work with stakeholders to both understand the bigger picture and figure out details.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.

    Working at DFDS
Join the movement and grow with us.

Here, we enjoy our own game room, fitness facilities, cantina and café and a rooftop terrace with a beautiful ocean view, all just 5 minutes from the nearest train & metro station.

When you join us, you will become a part of Technology & Innovation (T&I), one of DFDS’ five divisions. Here you will get the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and a cloud-based setup with event streaming and serverless.

Be a valued member of a diverse team at DFDS and help drive change together. While you’re with us, we want you to develop. At DFDS, we believe that development happens first and foremost through activities in the workplace. We will also offer training courses that can support you in your role, if needed.
