The position
Global Business Direct is a team anchored within Danske Bank’s Nordic hub for international customers. The team of five colleagues provides financial solutions and advisory towards SME (small and medium sized enterprise) customers with international ownership. This can be both listed and private groups, which have business activities in any of the four Nordic countries.
With this set-up, Danske Bank has a leading position in the Nordics, as we provide pan Nordic banking solutions to both small and large customers. As a result, the portfolio of international SME customers is growing and the team needs to grow as well.
The Global Business Direct team handles the less complex international customers. Together with a skilled team of International Relationship Managers you have the Relationship management responsibility for the portfolio . The team’s responsibility is to focus on providing banking advisory in line with the bank’s risk appetite for international businesses. In your role, you will work with corporate bankers, product specialist and subject matter experts across the bank. This includes among other responsibilities the client dialog in case of advisory related questions, the screening and assessment of potential new customers, the relationship coordination across the border and the monitoring and development of the existing portfolio.

“In this role, you will provide Nordic advisory to international customers, helping them to translate their business strategy into banking solutions that suit their needs. You will grow as a portfolio manager and it is important that you are eager to learn and apply the bank’s financial offerings in all Nordic countries.
“This will give you a unique opportunity to specialise and build competences in banking advisory across the bank’s four home markets and help Global Business Direct to become a centre of competence for international expansion”, Head of Global Subsidiaries and Global Business Direct, Cassandra Mattebo.
Who we are looking for
Given the bank’s central Nordic hub for international corporate banking solutions, you are expected be curious, take ownership and team up with your colleagues. This includes:
- Experience as relationship manager within financial sector
- Previous experience from other product areas within banking or finance, such as Cash Management or Credit Advisory
- Self-driven, curious and flexible with a strong focus on can-do attitude
- Customer oriented mind-set
- A desire to learn and to lead by example. You inspire others to try new ways of working.
- Team player who values knowledge sharing and collaboration and has solid experience with stakeholder management
- Empathetic and ambitious - you go the extra mile, but most important you are a good team player
- Fluent in at least one Nordic language and English
