About the workplace
The Department of Psychology (Campus Odense) has been established over the last 15 years and forms the research basis for the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in psychology at the University of Southern Denmark. Both degree programs are fully developed, and the first master's students graduated in August 2015.

From September 2025, the University of Southern Denmark will also offer a full psychology program in Esbjerg (Campus Esbjerg), and the present position will therefore include research- and educational collaborations between the two campuses, as well as occasional tasks in Esbjerg.

The Department is committed to advancing psychological science and its practical application, and our research goals encompass understanding human emotion, cognition, and behavior, including both functional and dysfunctional processes. We aim to enhance human health through translational research, covering dissemination, prevention, intervention, treatment, and education.

The Department is organized into four units, including

1) health and medical psychology,
2) clinical psychology,
3) cognitive and biological psychology, and
4) existence, community, and society.

We expect
The successful applicant will present as highly motivated and ambitious, with strong and documented research skills in clinical psychology, and with a specific focus on children.

We expect the applicant to have in-depth knowledge of theory and practice within clinical psychology including assessment and intervention. We prefer applicants, that have established collaborations and/or network within relevant areas of practice addressing clinical psychological problems.

The successful applicant has experience in attracting competitive funding and shows strong skills in communication and building collaborative relationships across academia and key stakeholders.

The successful applicant will also have proven capabilities in teaching subjects of clinical psychology and related areas such as developmental psychology, and in supervising bachelor- and master students.

We expect the successful applicant to be involved in knowledge transfer to society, to have administrative responsibilities and to teach and supervise students at all levels at the education program.

Finally, we prefer candidates that help form and support the strategies of the Department of Psychology, and that have the ambition to make mutual working relationships thrive.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in psychology with a PhD degree
  • Formalized pedagogical and didactic qualifications and competences
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
