As the Corporate Vice President for Biometrics in Diabetes and Obesity you will lead data management, programming and biostatistics for our key therapeutic areas Diabetes and Obesity.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Data Science, you will oversee an international team of approximately 300 experts based in various locations globally. Furthermore, you will lead the collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders across our Research & Early Development, Development and Commercial organisations driving innovation, and operational excellence within trial analytics.
The position is based in Denmark.
The position
As the Corporate Vice President for Biometrics in Diabetes & Obesity, your key responsibilities include:
- You will independently set strategic goals for the area, aligning with Data Science priorities. Ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables of data management, programming, and statistical analysis for all clinical trials in Diabetes & Obesity.
- You will be responsible for developing and transforming the area, to ensure we can continue to deliver on the clinical trial portfolio, by driving innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the organisation.
- A key priority will be coaching your team, fostering talent development, and ensuring department growth. You will also promote a psychologically safe, diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
The area is part of the global Data Science organisation within Novo Nordisk Development. You will join the Data Science Leadership Team and may substitute for the Senior Vice President and leadership team members on scientific and technical matters, contributing to the overall strategic direction and innovation. Key responsibilities include proactively fostering internal collaboration and managing stakeholders effectively.
Data Science in Novo Nordisk Development is an industry-leading organisation of approximately 1,200 passionate and phenomenal colleagues responsible for all aspects statistical design and analyses of RCTs, Data Management, RWE, AI/ML, Pharmacometrics including Clinical Trial Simulations, Advanced Analytics, Image Analytics, Multi Omics analytics, digital and data infrastructure, Data & AI Governance etc.
Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced leader with the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree (and potentially PhD) in biostatistics, data science, epidemiology, engineering, mathematics, statistics, public health, or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the biostatistical / study analytics field coupled with experience in multinational pharma organisation
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, leading teams in clinical drug development
- Significant experience in interacting with regulatory authorities (both USFDA, EMA, PMDA and CFDA) including submission
- Expert knowledge of clinical trial operations, statistics, data management, and drug development processes
- Proven track record of leading a matrix organisation. Experience operating in a large multi-functional and multi-national environment.
- Proven track record in driving efficiency, transformation and process optimization of key processes, while continuously ensuring compliance
- Demonstrated ability to drive global innovation processes in a high pace environment.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and operate in quickly changing environment.
- Excellent people leadership skills. Ability to coach and develop high performing teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. A leader that will collaborate effectively with stakeholders internally and externally.
