About the role
We are looking for a Utility Engineer with a curious consulting mindset and knowledge within Chillers, Cooling systems, Heating systems, Plant steam, Compressed air, Energy Mass Balances, and Sustainability.
You will be a part of the Process Utility Department with more than 30+ dedicated specialists within Clean Utility, Black Utility, Process Waste, and CIP within the life science and biotechnology industry. As a team, we help our customers to find the optimal solutions when building new facilities, expanding, or renovating existing facilities using new technologies
All our activities are project-based, meaning that you will be working with an innovative, multi-disciplinary team and every new task will give you a new opportunity to develop your competencies. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to explore new, smarter, and more sustainable technologies. As a specific initiative in our area, we have biweekly knowledge-sharing activities where you learn from colleagues. Examples include digital twin, sustainability initiatives in specific projects, new technologies within Process Utility connected to regulatory requirements, discussions with technology suppliers, and how to execute projects more efficiently.
Depending on current projects, the workplace will be at our NNE office in Virum or at the customer site in Kalundborg. Therefore, you can expect to commute between Kalundborg and Virum on a weekly basis.

How you might spend your days
As an Utility Engineer, you’ll be:
- Designing and constructing new utility systems from early project phase all the way to commissioning and qualification
- Implementing sustainable solutions by reducing energy, water, and consumables
- Optimizing and expanding existing capacities on utilities in production facilities
- Sharing knowledge with colleagues, partners, and operating staff about possible solutions to specific problems in all project phases
- Communicating with relevant authorities
- Handling technical contracts and supervise relevant contractors and suppliers

- Have a solid customer understanding and a consultative mindset
- Plan and take the technical responsibility for Black Utility in projects
- Have an interest in following the technological developments and trends within Black Utility
- Have a solid foundation of knowledge and previous experience in solving complex problems
- Coordinate and support colleges
- Speak and write English, and eventually have knowledge of Danish
The miles you’ve walked
In all positions there are some things that are needed, and others a bonus. We believe these qualifications are needed for you to do well in this role:
- Work experience of 2 years in Black Utility and knowledge of other disciplines and interfaces
- Good knowledge of the relevant legislation and industry standards
- You are an engineer MS or BS (or equivalent of the Danish qualification Mechanical engineer - Maskinmester) and have experience within the above tasks
