Core Responsibilities
As CAE Specialist your main responsibility is to perform structural simulations in support of the operational towards internal processing equipment, such as current and future flex equipment to novelties and simulation of element shaker plates and more.
You take part in proactively developing new simulation capabilities to support value creating in the processing of elements such as pad printing. As a strong technical engineer, you will drive and coordinate activities to maintain, operationalize and develop key CAE & Processing infrastructure and capabilities in close collaboration with the team. Furthermore, you will:
- Collaborate with the CAE Operations & Processing Team: Support development activities and contribute to the overall success of the team.
- Support Complex Troubleshooting: Assist colleagues and partners in resolving technical challenges related to processing equipment.
- Perform Structural Simulations: Conduct simulations to enhance the development and performance of processing equipment.
- Provide Guidance: Offer insights and advice to engineers based on the analysis of CAE simulation results.
- Ensure Quality and Consistency: Align with internal customers to maintain high standards and value in CAE services.
- Improve CAE Tools: Contribute to the ongoing validation and enhancement of simulation tools and methods.
- Lead and Innovate: Act as a technical leader and advocate for continuous improvement within the CAE department.

The CAE department provides simulation support to the engineering development within the LEGO Group. This includes analysis of injection moulding processes as well as analysis of the mechanical robustness and functions of both moulds and bricks. We apply agile ways of working with a strategic focus through Objectives & Key Results. It is our daily ambition to support the design of robust and efficient solutions in a cost-efficient manner based on digital prototypes.
You will join the CAE Structural Simulation team working closely together with the other subteam CAE Operations (OPS). Your team is based in Billund and consists of 8 dedicated and highly skilled colleagues with a diverse set of backgrounds in terms of gender, nationality, age groups, etc.
No relocation assistance is offered for this position.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate comes with 5+ years of experience from a role as CAE Simulation Engineer, Structural Engineer, FEM Engineer, FEA Engineer or similar. You have minimum long academic educational background within Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, but most essentially bring strong experience with structural FEA analysis capabilities including knowledge about non-linear material behavior, geometric contact and large displacements. In addition, you have:
- Preferably solid experience working with LS-DYNA or similar simulation tools – Otherwise, showing a strong learning demeanor, lots of drive and eagerness for personal improvement.
- Solid programming skills.
- Broad solid understanding of FEM, FEA & CAE.
- Ability to evaluate simulation results from underlying physics.
- Confirmed results from previous positions as being successful technical leader, specialist and role model.
- Strong communication and Collaborator Management capabilities.
- Proficiency in English both verbal and written.
- As an advantage, a sound understanding of tools like ANSYS, HyperWorks/Altair, Abaqus, ANSA/BETA, and MSC Nastran will be considered.
