Key responsibilities
In this role, you will be in a key position in the development of Ambu’s future products. You can therefore expect to:
- Identify user needs, design inputs and specifications through participation in proof of concept (POC) and the project start-up phase where interaction with key opinion leaders, doctors and technology partners in order to fulfil the ambitious innovation targets.
- Be a key influencer in significant development projects within Ambu, either through a mechanical design or design lead role.
- Develop new mechanical design solutions of components and assemblies as well as optimization of existing designs for Ambu's extensive product portfolio
- Have the responsibility for the mechanical design and construction of functionalities, parts and assemblies including quality aspects for robust and safe medical products.
- Translate technology concepts into fully working prototypes ready for feasibility testing and process evaluation including documentation.
- Ensure that the component or product is manufacturable in high volume, fulfils function and stays within defined cost framework.
- Trusted cooperation with internal and external partners. You will work in international development teams from Germany, Denmark, and Malaysia as well as with external partners and suppliers.
Qualifications
Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you have:
- Successfully completed a technical or scientific course of study, e.g., mechanical engineering resulting in a broad technical understanding.
- 2+ years experience of mechanical design, preferably in relation to compact design.
- Relevant experience in the design of mechanical and plastic components for high volumes experience of working with small electronic components considered as advantage.
- Solid knowledge in working with a CAD system e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, Creo, Catia
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, 3D printing, modeling and testing mechanical designs.
- Professional level of both written and spoken English
- Strong team and communication skills, initiative, and courage to take the technical lead in development project groups
- This role is open to experienced and senior position. If for senior position, we expect 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
