Sustainability Manager
COWI A/S
Do you want to shape the future of sustainable engineering? Can you direct efforts to integrate sustainability into every stage of project execution? And are you a strategic thinker with a genuine customer-centric mindset? Then, this is the place to apply your expertise and commitment for enabling a better tomorrow.
Be at the forefront of sustainability at COWI.
At COWI, we are committed to delivering solutions that benefit society, reduce environmental impacts, and contribute to a sustainable future. We are seeking a Sustainability Manager to advance this agenda within our Heavy Civil division, collaborating with 650 engineers to integrate sustainability principles into our work and create measurable impact for clients and communities alike.
As our new Sustainability Manager, you will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate initiatives that bring COWI’s sustainability strategy to life.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Collaborate with clients to translate global sustainability goals into actionable strategies and integrate them into project delivery.
- Guide project managers and engineers on embedding sustainability into the design and execution of projects, aligning with COWI’s focus areas: biodiversity, climate change, circularity, and social value.
- Support the market organization and market directors in business development, ensuring sustainability is a cornerstone of tendering and client engagement.
- Bridge technical engineering expertise with the growing sustainability agenda to advance innovation and sustainable outcomes across all projects.
- Act as a liaison between the Sustainability Director for Infrastructure and the Heavy Civil division to ensure alignment with COWI’s broader goals.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
We expect you to be eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. Additionally, you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, with relevant training in sustainability.
- Extensive experience in project management and strategy development related to sustainability, preferably within infrastructure.
- Proven ability to guide teams and manage stakeholder interactions across diverse functions.
- Knowledge of current sustainability regulations and trends, with the ability to anticipate future developments.
- Customer-focused mindset, capable of understanding and addressing varied client needs with clear, actionable solutions.
