Want to develop a new play proposition that Girls will fall in love with, from scratch?
As part of the Innovation Marketing team in the Creative Play Lab, you will act as a marketing lead on a high-profile innovation mission. There’ll be plenty of opportunity to put your creative and commercial muscles to the test, and work with senior collaborators, our creative partners and your fellow play inventing team to design and derisk a new play proposition for Girls.
This role will be instrumental in bringing innovations through from discovery to launch; shaping unique proposition territories and exploring distinctive brand, comms, channel and distribution strategies that ensure LEGO continues to resonate in the market as the pioneer in play.
No one day will be the same; some days you’ll be on the floor playing with kids, some you’ll be concocting consumer or shopper experiments and others you’ll be co-developing the product roadmap.
Please note:
- This is a 12-month contract.
- No relocation support is offered for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Marketing: developing future-fit and highly consumer-centric value propositions.
- Brand Strategy: creating brand frameworks and new positioning strategies that bring the value proposition to life in the hearts and minds of consumers and shoppers.
- Experiments: planning experiments that derisk our strategic hypotheses and prove their commercial viability.
- Stakeholder Management: building trust and ensuring strong buy-in through close collaboration with key internal partners.
- Innovation: comfort in ambiguity, test & learn and iterative approaches to bring innovations to life.
- Commercial Viability: identifying new growth opportunities including early business modelling and opportunity sizing.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: turning strategy into new, relevant and highly engaging brand experiences across and beyond the LEGO eco-system.
- Consumer Insights and Analysis: using multiple data sets to extract new knowledge about consumer, culture and commercial for evidence-based innovation marketing.

Creative Play Lab exists to create a compelling innovation pipeline consisting of new and engaging LEGO experiences that delight and inspire the builders of tomorrow. To do so, it is essential that we see opportunities, understand audience needs, formulate propositions to meet those needs, ensure the propositions are communicable and commercially viable. No proven path exists; through astute observation and evidence gathering, experimentation and rapid iteration, we derisk strategies and ensure commercial viability.
Our strategic marketers are core to shaping all new innovations from seed to scale, within the Innovation Marketing team. The Senior Innovation Marketing Manager role will play a crucial role in the development of consumer-centric and commercially viable innovation strategies.
Do you have what it takes?
Experience and track record are more relevant than specific education. We would love to meet applicants from a diverse set of backgrounds.
You’ll need to demonstrate:
- Experience working with marketing and brand strategy in the context of innovation.
- Strong commercial approach and understanding. Ideally, previous experience in commercially sizing opportunity spaces and new experiences.
- Track-record of taking innovations from the blank page to proven, scaled business and grabbing headlines with novel activation experiences.
- A passion for collaborating with dedicated individuals to share diverse thoughts and practices to develop stronger outcomes.
- Experience across a number of industries or sectors, bringing a fresh perspective, set of case studies and tools into the team.
- A personality that thrives working with high level of uncertainty and ambiguity and comfortable finding and taking ownership of the direction to go.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English (presentations, workshops, discussions).
- A love of play and a passion for improving the lives of children and their parents.
