The position
You will be responsible for leading a team of Medical Writers in line with Novo Nordisk Way to ensure optimal employee development, planning and resource utilisation. This also entails coordination and prioritisation of tasks for employees in the team.

You will report to and work closely with the Head of Department and help to clarify direction and overall strategy for the team. You will be responsible for people processes and people development incl. ongoing feedback on performance, job descriptions, development tasks, salary and take an active role in recruitment and onboarding.

You will ensure effective performance follow-up to reach targets within deadlines, optimise the performance of the team and ensure clear target break-down and ownership. You will ensure that skills and competences in the team are aligned with the demands and requirements set by present and future development projects and stakeholders, and you will ensure good relations with key stakeholders from senior management, as well as Project Directors, Department Heads and Medical writing staff.

As a specialist you can take up Medical Writing documents as needed in the team or drive development projects across Clinical Reporting. You will help ensuring that tasks are completed with the right level of quality in the work processes in the team, ensure that the team operates in compliance with internal and external requirements and represent medical writing in relevant fora.

Qualifications
You have a Master´s degree such as MSc., MD, DDS, DVM or equivalent and minimum 5 years of experience as Medical Writer or equivalent. Previous leadership experience including people and project management roles is preferred.

In addition, you have:

  • Solid experience within clinical drug development (fx from MW, RA, Clinical Operations or similar)
  • Excellent understanding of clinical development and regulatory processes and requirements
  • Business and R&D value chain understanding
  • The desire to act as an ambassador for the innovative and supporting culture in Clinical Reporting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

You have demonstrated ability to identify better practice and create improvements in methods, techniques, and approaches. Your robustness and assertiveness make you a role model for others, and you do not hesitate to make bold decisions. You can build and manage networks and have good mentoring and training skills and have a positive mindset.

About the Department
Clinical Reporting is the medical writing function at Novo Nordisk. Our main task is to communicate clinical data in a clear and concise manner. Our documents are intended for regulatory authorities and include protocols, clinical trial reports, investigator’s brochures, submission documents and other documents covering interpretation and documentation of clinical data. The Medical Writing CagriSema department is responsible for all MW activities on CagriSema projects across therapeutic areas.
