About the role
We are looking for a Public Affairs Advisor to the Nordic region who can leverage a deep understanding of the political environments to drive the strategic engagement at Maersk.
In this position, you will actively work to position the company as a key player in the Nordics. You will work in the intersection between logistics and critical infrastructure, with the company's responsibility to drive decarbonization, sustainable, and efficient global trade.
In this role, you will have a special focus on Sweden but assist across Nordics.
Within the Nordics team, you assist to develop, implement and manage strategies within Public Affairs. As an advisor, you will work with both internal and external stakeholders including government officials, regulators, industry associations, and other partners across the Nordic countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze political developments and regulatory changes across the Nordics. Provide strategic insights on how these trends affect business operations.
- Develop and assist in executing public affairs strategies to build and maintain relationships with decision-makers. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring alignment between the company’s business interests and the external landscape.
- Support our advocacy efforts on key issues. Represent the company in relevant discussion.
- Work closely with internal teams to align public affairs strategies with overall business objectives. Support business leaders in understanding trends and developments that affect Maersk.
- Anticipate risks and develop strategies to mitigate their potential impact. Provide timely and relevant advice during crises to ensure business continuity and effective stakeholder communication.

We Are Looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- Fluent Swedish speaker is required
- A relevant educational background (e.g., political science, law, economics, international relations).
- 2-4 years of experience in public affairs, government or similar. Ideally with knowledge of one or more of the Nordic countries
- Strong analytical and strategic skills and the ability to navigate complex policy landscapes.
- Excellent communication skills, with agility and flexibility to manage high-level government interactions.
- Ability to work in an environment where the days rarely look the same, and where new assignments may arise with short notice.
Note: Fluency in English is needed. Possible to work from either Copenhagen or Gothenburg. Travel within the Nordic countries expected.
