We currently have an opening for a driven individual to play a key role in our air freight team, handling end-to-end operations in Aarhus.
We offer
A unique role as Air Freight Specialist where you will be responsible for the operational execution of air export/import shipments and be in daily contact with customers and vendors as well as has the overall accurate revenue and cost allocation on shipment level.
This role will give you the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and extend your network within Maersk.
You will be based in Aarhus and be part of a dedicated and fun team.
Key Responsibilities
You will handle the end-to-end shipment process in both import and export air freight shipments (incl. Dangerous Goods) and arrange airline bookings with our core carrier partners and gateways.
You will also arrange pre- and on-carriage with our trucking partners and align with our customs partner that all shipments are cleared as per local legislations.
Other key tasks
- Ensure shipments are filed timely and accurate in our operational systems
- Update shipment milestones in our operational systems in order to guarantee data quality towards our customers
- Ensure specific customer requirements are met (transit time, carrier selection, routings etc.)
- Monitoring of shipments to provide proactive update to our customers and to solve potential operational disruptions
- Ensure financial handling of files and vendor invoices, incl. soft and hard closing
- Coordinate with the commercial organization on customer commitments and forecasts
- Knowledge Exchange with the sales and account management in order to ensure customer satisfaction
- Quote on ad-hoc shipments and perform vendor negotiations
- Ensure accuracy of revenue and cost calculation on shipment level
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years Air Freight Forwarding experience ideally combined with a Dangerous Goods Cat. 3 certification & Cargowise System knowledge.
You are a visionary and strategic thinker with a customer centric mindset.
Furthermore you:
- Have strong stakeholder management skills
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Are able to collaborate across functions, departments and geographies
- Are great at creative problem solving and finding solutions
- Have strong ownership and accountability, self-management
- Are fluent in both Danish and English
