Location: The role is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. You need to be on location four days per week. Our office is located 5 min walk from Nørreport station

We are now seeking a Senior Backend Developer to help us design and build a scalable platform that empower our customers to extract even more value from data, analytics, and AI. Our backend stack is built on Node.js, leveraging Azure services for cloud infrastructure. Your work will involve handling big data, optimizing databases, and ensuring our backend systems are robust and efficient. Beyond your technical skills, you should have a strategic mindset to drive architectural decisions that align with our business objectives.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be a key player in our agile development process. You'll participate in sprint planning, customer demos, team retrospectives, and support the Product Owner in defining the right product vision and roadmap. We strive to bring new ideas to our customers quickly and measure outcomes to ensure we create genuine value.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Implement real-time big data processing and analytics solutions.
  • Integrate mapping services and manage geospatial data.
  • Optimize application and data performance.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to build new features.
  • Maintain and enhance existing systems.
  • Lead and mentor junior developers, conducting code reviews and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Design and oversee the architecture of backend systems, making informed technology and design decisions.
  • Implement and enforce coding standards and best practices to ensure high code quality.
  • Implement security best practices, conduct security audits, and address potential vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of backend development experience in a product team.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and data optimization.
  • Proficient in express.js with Typescript.
  • Experience with real-time analytics and mapping technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts (LLMs, embeddings, machine learning) is a plus.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proven experience in system architecture design and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices.

The application process begins with a review by our team. Following this, candidates will undergo interviews conducted via voice or video calls. Successful candidates will then be invited for an in-person interview where they will have the opportunity to meet the team to ensure a good fit. During this process there may be a technical test and TT38 personality test. We care about finding the right person for the job with best fit for the team. The final stage includes contract negotiations. The entire hiring process is expected to take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
