VELUX is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled colleague who shares our commitment to improve indoor environments and support the green transition in the building sector.

This role is placed in Group Sustainability, which is part of External Relations and Sustainability reporting to the Senior Director of Group Sustainability.

You will join a diverse and international team with 10 colleagues, working to become an even more visible business partner when it comes to fulfilling our grand ambitions regarding sustainability. This covers areas from ESG, partnerships, strategic projects, long-term visions and more – moving both VELUX and the industry into a sustainable future with well-being for people and planet.

The position is a maternity cover until end of January 2026.

What you will do
In this role, you will work on VELUX strategic priority of supporting biodiversity. With support from external advisors, you will act as subject matter expert while managing the project moving it into the next phase. This involves assessment and analysis of the current state as well as working to protect and enhance biodiversity at company sites and across our supply chain.

You will work closely with external and internal stakeholders, including external advisors, Groups Sustainability, Facility Management, Operations & Supply, Procurement and more. Part of your responsibility will be to align across functions ensuring progress on the project.

Your responsibilities in the position include to:

  • Coordinate the completion of biodiversity baseline assessments for company properties.
  • Support the mapping and transition plan for biodiversity in the supply chain.
  • Monitor progress and report on biodiversity KPIs.
  • Integrate sustainability criteria and regulations into VELUX’s supply chain and procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement biodiversity action plans aligned with global commitments.
  • Coordinate and support the integration of sustainability into procurement and supply chain processes, ensuring alignment with VELUX’s overall sustainability approach.

Based at our Head Office in Hørsholm, this role offers flexibility to work from home up to two days per week. As part of a global organization, you can also expect limited travel domestically and internationally up to 15 days annually.

Who you are
We are looking for you who have an educational background within business or engineering and at least 3 years of relevant working experience. You may come from a position as consultant, subject matter expert on biodiversity, a commercial role focused on sustainability or something similar.

You demonstrate advanced interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to navigate a matrix organization and you thrive in collaborative settings working with diverse teams in a complex stakeholder landscape.

Moreover, we are looking for you who:

  • Have knowledge of key biodiversity-related global conventions and regulations.
  • Have an understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements related to the building industry.
  • Have a solid commercial sense and understanding of the building value chain.
  • Posses project management skills with experience coordinating large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Are fluent in written and spoken English.
