The Offshore PW Research Opportunity Coordinator will develop the produced water management and chemical impact of offshore energy portfolio while based on a solid researcher background assist in advancing specific disciplines of microfluidics and capillary electrophoresis analysis of water.

Can you advance our in-house research on microfluidic applications and new water analysis within this collaboration framework? Then you might be the new PW research coordinator we are looking for at DTU Offshore.
As responsible for the activities in the current Produced Water Management Programme and the development of this programme to comprise waste waters and environmental impact of new energy production offshore, you will play a central role in the center´s research and innovation activities aimed at reducing the environmental impact of offshore activities.
The center builds on cross-disciplinary industry collaboration involving our partners in other Danish universities, and the coordinator is expected to facilitate this approach proactively. This will require a good overview of our capabilities by involving researchers actively. In this function you will be part-time assigned to the program management team and part-time to the research team. As part of the research team you will in particular be facilitating and supporting further development of our research portfolio around microfluidics and new water analysis.
As a research coordinator you will be responsible for the following key elements:
- Leading and coordinating the efforts to establish new research opportunities within the Produced Water area. Work with researchers and industrial partners on the line-of-sight and transfer of projects to industrial application
- Assist in development of new research funding applications and research collaborations
- Engage actively with DTU Offshore’s key stakeholders within industry, partner institutions, industry organizations, authorities etc. to promote strong relationships, stay abreast of industrial movements and identify potential activities and projects.
- In your capacity as researcher, assist in the development of our microfluidic and water analysis including active participation in the laboratory currently addressing oil/water systems related to windfarm pollution, Oil & gas, biooil spills and more.
- It is a plus if you have worked actively with capillary electrophoresis-based R&D.
Our expectations of you
The ideal candidate should be a recognized professional with academic credentials (PhD) and significant research experience in applied sciences obtained through postdoctoral work preferably within two-phase oil/water waste systems impacted by surface active pollutants. Moreover, the preferred candidate will have the following characteristics:
- A relevant PhD in nano-sciences, chemistry or similar with a focus and further postdoctoral experience in development of microfluidic platforms and water analysis.
- Experience with project or programme management and self-driven in research project execution.
- Innovative skills and a creative mind-set for support of the research environments, new technologies and their implementation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills based on a solid understanding of various stakeholder interests including researchers, industry and authorities.
- Ability to balance the two distinct areas of both project/programme development and participation actively (hands-on) in laboratory experimental developments.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer or Senior Officer.
The position is permanent and full-time position, with start as soon as possible for the preferred candidate.
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, with flexible work hours.
