At Maersk, we believe in the power of diversity, collaboration, and continuous learning and we work hard to ensure that the people in our organisation reflect and understand the customers we exist to serve.

With over 100,000 employees across 130 countries, we work together to shape the future of global trade and logistics.

Join us as we harness cutting-edge technologies and unlock opportunities on a global scale. Together, let's sail towards a brighter, more sustainable future with Maersk.

Maersk is going through times of unprecedented change. We are rethinking the way we engage with both customers and partners and have a bold ambition to drive Maersk’s emissions to net zero as fast as practically and commercially possible. Connecting our vessels and containers is a key enabler in this journey and an area that is expanding rapidly in size and significance to our business and customers.

We offer:

This role provides a unique chance to join our Fleet Technology organization's multicultural and cross-functional team, which is passionate about using technology to solve business and operational problems. You will work in a fast-paced, ever-changing workplace that employs modern technology and agile software development processes. Furthermore, you will collaborate with our software engineering teams, product organization, and users on boats and shore, as well as key stakeholders, to influence outcomes in the areas of emissions reduction, safety, crew welfare, and customer experience.

Key responsibilities:

As a project manager in the Vessel & Cargo Connectivity team, you will play a crucial role in enabling the next generation of connectivity infrastructure and innovative solutions for our fleet of container vessels, ensuring seamless connectivity across a wide range of innovative and operational projects in IT, Satcom, OT, and IoT/wireless infrastructures. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Technical project management activities act as a central point of contact for all project stakeholders, coordinating deliverables and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Facilitating effective communication and collaboration in a complex network of end-users, business- and technology stakeholders, our product organization, project team members, and external suppliers.
  • Monitoring and disseminating project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Participate in vendor engagement, change management processes, and take the lead in driving operational and governance activities.

You will be working closely together with a team of project- and product-responsible engineering colleagues, supporting and enabling our digital transformation strategy across the global supply chain.

Who we are looking for:

This role requires an appetite to execute your interdisciplinary skillset across technology design and implementation, business knowledge, and project management competences. Other than that, we are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant master’s degree within the disciplines of, e.g., engineering, management, and/or business.
  • Holds 5+ years of work experience within project management from technical industries/engineering environments since graduation. However, most importantly is your adaptability and willingness to work across technology projects while being driven by a higher purpose to improve life for all by integrating into the world.
  • Can contribute with communication excellence and can disseminate value from complex technical solutions to anyone from colleague peers to senior management.
  • Has a desire to independently manage technology projects of all stages, from early Proof of Concept (PoC) up to deployment and operational maintenance.

As a person, you thrive in taking responsibility not only for your own deliverables but also ensuring continuous alignment across all levels of the organization. You are curious, positive, supportive, and a true team player who values direct communication and appreciates candid feedback. You are open to change and can adapt to an ever-changing business structure. Whether you have a background from the maritime industry is not important, but practical experience from asset-heavy industries such as manufacturing, supply chain, or transport & logistics is an advantage.

Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking. Maersk is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants without regard to race, colour, gender, sex, age, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy or parental leave, veteran status, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all legal requirements.

We are happy to support your need for any adjustments during the application and hiring process. If you need special assistance or an accommodation to use our website, apply for a position, or to perform a job, please contact us by emailing [email protected].
