Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will be at the crossroads of market analysis, risk evaluation and strategic decision-making. Your expertise will support our proprietary trading desk and renewable energy strategies, helping optimise outcomes in an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.
Concretely, your responsibilities include:
- Analysing trends, pricing dynamics and regulatory changes in the Brazilian power market
- Leveraging statistical models and tools to interpret data, forecast demand and uncover market patterns
- Generating short- and medium-term price forecasts using models like NEWAVE, DECOMP and DESSEM
- Tracking updates from ANEEL, CCEE and ONS, assessing their impact on price forecasts and market strategies
- Collaborating with IT and trading teams to develop custom scripts and tools, streamlining processes and enhancing decision-making
- Evaluating risks tied to market volatility, regulatory shifts and external market drivers

You will be part of our vibrant office in the heart of Brazil’s largest city, São Paulo, working with a talented team of 15 dedicated colleagues in trading, finance, risk, legal and administration. You will work closely with innovative professionals, including traders and other specialists, Together, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the energy sector. The team values collaboration, precision and an open-minded approach to tackling challenges.
In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening trading performance in the Brazilian power markets by delivering timely and accurate data.

Your qualifications

We are seeking a talented professional who combines technical expertise with a proactive, innovative mindset. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, analytical environment and can seamlessly blend market knowledge with technical skills to drive impactful decisions.
We also imagine that you:
- have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the energy sector, with expertise in market analysis and pricing models like NEWAVE, DECOMP and DESSEM
- have proficiency in Python and familiarity with database management systems (for example, MySQL and SQL Server)
- are fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and verbal
- are reliable and detail-oriented, always aiming for accuracy
- take a well-rounded approach to risk, considering both market and external factors
- are a great team player who always brings a positive and collaborative attitude
