Then we have a truly unique opportunity in our Hearing Instruments Group, where we are looking for a visionary Senior Director to lead and develop our Electronics group within our Device Hardware organization.
We are approximately 65 skilled employees in our Electronics group, who are responsible for developing highly integrated electronic amplifiers for all Demant’s hearing instruments. Growth is built on close collaboration across all of R&D, with our own production and external production partners.
You will have an important role in shaping the strategic direction of our Electronics group and will be an important part of the Device Hardware leadership team, ensuring innovation and transformation of our hardware organization, reporting to the Vice President of Device Hardware.
As the Senior Director of our Electronics group, you will be heading up the Electronics leadership team of four experienced managers. Together with the leadership team, you will ensure that we are at the forefront of innovation in all aspects of our electronic development to enable world class hearing instruments.
Key responsibilities areas
- Strategic Leadership: According to our R&D strategy set a clear agenda on innovation, quality, and time-to market.
- People Leadership: Promote a strong people agenda to ensure a highly engaged organisation. Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within and across the organization.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a great leadership team, maintaining a culture of inclusion and innovation, collaboration, and trust.
- Change Management: Support the organisation through a transformation of new agile ways of working.
- Optimization & Automation: Drive a continuous focus on optimizing our electronic development processes, including automation and advanced technologies to improve efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and minimize costs.
- External Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with external partners.
Your competencies
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with an electronic engineering background and senior-level experience in developing electronics within a product development organisation. You have a clear focus on optimization and automation. You have a previous experience with effectively navigating and working within a matrix organizational structure.
In terms of the competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience within electronic development, ideally from the medical device industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on electronics development. Extensive knowledge of electronics development processes and preferably experience with external development through partnerships.
- Leadership: Proven history of building and developing high-performance teams. Strong change management experience, and also experience working with agile development model.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Good organisation skills, handling many different stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Problem-Solving: Good analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a consistent approach to solving complex technical and operational challenges.
- Education: Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
