(Senior) External Manufacturing Specialist

About the Team
As an External Manufacturing Specialist, you will become part of the External Manufacturing department with currently 25 colleagues, which belongs to our Global Operations organization with physical sites in Kvistgaard, Munich, and Bern. This position is based in Kvistgaard or Hellerup in Denmark.

Within External Manufacturing, you will be part of the Contract Manufacturing Solutions team consisting of 6 people, responsible for CMO selection and onboarding, setting up processes for early development projects and/or tech transfers of already existing products to the CMO. 10-20 % of the time, traveling to the CMOs is expected.

Your Impact
Your tasks will include:

• Implementing a CMO and managing the relationship as the point of contact for External Manufacturing/Bavarian Nordic
• Ensure operational readiness at the CMO
• Internal stakeholder alignment (QC, QA, MSAT, supply chain, RA, etc.)
• Setting up new production processes in close collaboration with the CMO and relevant internal departments
• TechTransfer execution & handover of a project to the commercial operations sister team during Product Process Qualification (PPQ)

Are you our next pioneer?
We are looking for an experienced colleague with a customer-oriented behaviour, commercial edge, and excellent stakeholder management skills.

You probably have the following experience and competencies:

• Relevant degree (MSc or higher) in pharmacy, chemistry, engineering, life sciences
• 5+ years of work experience in a GMP production environment (drug substance, drug product, packaging)
• Experience in CMO handling/CMO management and contract manufacturing or working in a CMO
• Project management skills
• High proficiency in English, both verbal and written

About you
You are a natural influencer and thrive in taking the lead in planning and organizing a project team to ensure important information is shared with key stakeholders and the deadlines are met.

You are a strong communicator working with internal stakeholders (e.g., MSAT, QA, QC, RA, Legal and Finance) and are responsible for coordination and communication between Bavarian Nordic and our CMOs to ensure that production activities will be executed according to forecast planning. You ensure the QMS systems are in place and relevant requirements are implemented at the CMO.
