The Electrical Transmission Package Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical transmission systems for offshore wind projects, including onshore transmission. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Primary job duties include the following:

  • Develop and optimize the wind power plant’s electrical layout, transmission system concepts, and grid connection strategies.
  • Review and verify high-voltage electrical designs for onshore and offshore transmission systems.
  • Validate component designs, including transformers, cables, switchgear, reactive compensation equipment, and communication systems.
  • Manage grid compliance verification and documentation as required by the relevant Transmission System Operator (TSO).
  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory, certification, and compliance standards.
  • Manage technical scenarios and coordinate the development of technical concepts across EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) packages.
  • Focus on business case optimization while adhering to regulatory, certification, and other constraints.
  • Review electrical loss assessments and conduct rapid scenario development for energy yield optimization.
  • Perform detailed analyses and communicate results, options, and recommendations in a concise and clear manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align technical concepts with project objectives.
  • Provide technical input to ensure seamless integration of electrical transmission systems into overall project delivery.

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in high-voltage systems, electrical transmission design, or renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with onshore transmission projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience with offshore wind projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of grid compliance requirements and electrical design principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for energy yield optimization and technical evaluations.
  • Proficiency in technical tools and software for electrical design and performance analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to distill complex technical information into clear recommendations.
  • Native Japanese and good command of English.
