Mechanical and LV Engineering Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll be utilizing technical expertise to increase the reliability of the CHW0102a and CHW2204 substations. You’ll use your skills to review and analyze corrective requirements and liaise possible solutions with the OEM. You’ll be the point of contact for OEM and site to assist with technical queries.

You’ll be part of Engineering and Systems team where you, together with your colleagues, will take part in identifying and solving technical problems experienced by the portfolio of assets under operation at the organisation. Your job will be to provide practical and efficient solutions to these problems using the tools available as well as liaise with the OEM and multiple functions across the business to maintain effective processes and communication across multiple sites and work regions. As a team, we we strive for excellence and continuous improvement.
You’ll play an important role in:
- being the first point of contact for technical questions arising in the substations
- being responsible for the technical issue of mechanical systems on onshore and offshore substations, including HVA/C, fire safety systems, sea water cooling systems, diesel generators, heat exchanges, etc
- supporting in planning and carrying out the maintenance work and technical projects on the onshore and offshore substations
- carrying out error analyses and defining measures to optimise the yield of the equipment in the substations
- following up on the service contractually agreed with the OEM for maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of the equipment in the substations
- participating in the technical forums to exchange knowledge with other technical expertise within the organisation.
To succeed in the role, you:
- hold a relevant degree in mechanical or marine engineering, and are interested in working with mechanical systems for onshore and offshore substations
- have extensive relevant technical design experience from substations, including mechanical scopes (such as fire and alarm system, heat and ventilation and air conditioning system, pollution prevention system, diesel generator, material handling equipment, etc.)
- have some experience in troubleshooting and planning the maintenance of mechanical equipment and have extensive experience with relevant international standards
- have extensive experience with relevant international standards within the wind industry and enjoy working within a matrix organisation
- have fluent English communication skills and an analytical approach to your work.
