Backup Architect, Group IT

As our Backup Architect, you are responsible for GN IT’s backup and restore solutions and ensure it is suitable to support the needs from both internally in IT and our business applications. And that is covers both our cloud and more traditional IT infrastructure.

The team you will be part of
At our global HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark, you will join the Core Infrastructure team consisting of 8 dedicate architects and specialist. You report to the Head of Core Infrastructure, Steen Raahauge.

We collaborate across the global GN Group. We develop, support, and maintain technologies, tools and processes that are used as a base upon which other applications, processes and technologies are developed.

We work in a cloud and on-premise environment in a hybrid model, as part of our global IT transformational journey.

Together with your colleagues, you will be collaborating across the organization with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a global agile work environment to ensure we have the needed backup and restore services.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will be:

• Implementing backup of our traditional IT Infrastructure as well as our Core Cloud offerings. We are using Rubrik and Azure for backup and recovery.
• Defining and implementing disaster recovery strategies that meet the needs of the organization, including RTO and RPO goals.
• Developing and documenting backup and recovery policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements globally, to support IT teams and end-users regarding backup and recovery best practices and procedures.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have

• A relevant higher educational background within IT, Computer Science, or other relevant fields.
• A solid experience from a relevant IT domain area as an IT Backup Architect, IT Architect, Backup Specialist, Tech Lead or equivalent, whereby you have experience with and knowledge of:
• Designing and implementing backup strategies.
• Disaster Recovery procedures.
• Distinction between backup and archiving.
• A well-developed knowledge of agile methods and processes are a clear advantage, but not a prerequisite for the position.
• Familiarity with Rubrik backup solutions and Azure Backup is advantageous, though a comprehensive grasp of backup strategies, policies, and procedures is fundamental.
• Good people and oral skills ensuring backup strategies and procedures can be explained and understood by our customers in both IT and the business.
