By harnessing the power of technology and social behavior, we have created a community-driven e-commerce platform powered by personalization with almost 70 million community members. Now is the time to join a fast-paced and growing team where you will define and drive technical strategy and execution.

Leadership, collaboration, and technical strategy & execution
As VP of Engineering, you will support and grow Vivino's engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. You'll mentor engineering managers, align the department's vision with business goals, and ensure the team has the resources and skills to succeed. Working closely with and as part of the executive team, you'll drive organizational success while championing Vivino's values and mission. Your leadership will help shape the future of Vivino's product development, ensuring we continue to be a trusted source for wine lovers globally.

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and reporting directly to our CEO, you will oversee the development, deployment, and scaling of Vivino, ensuring performance, security, and scalability requirements are met. Collaborating with senior engineering staff, you will define an architecture that supports growth while staying informed about emerging technologies to strengthen our market position. With our VP of Product, you will co-own the department's OKR process, align priorities with strategic goals, and manage the engineering budget, including contracts with external contractors and strategic vendor relations and investment cases. Additionally, you'll track and report key performance metrics to the executive team.

Inspirational leader combined with a technical understanding of frameworks, tools, and practices
While we prefer not to confine anyone within rigid categories, we imagine you will thrive and succeed in this position if you can showcase your experience or aptitude for many aspects outlined below.

We imagine the ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of agile methodologies and engineering best practices, enabling you to drive efficient and collaborative software development processes. You are familiar with using data from relational and document databases and rely on observability and monitoring tools to maintain system reliability and performance. In addition to technical expertise, this role requires profound leadership and managerial skills. You thrive in an environment where you inspire, elevate, and drive a high-performance engineering department. A proven track record of leading managers in a multicultural environment is necessary, along with the ability to develop and translate strategies into actionable plans through engagement and collaboration.

Strong communication skills are necessary, as this role involves frequent collaboration across departments and requires the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also possess a strategic mindset and be able to align technical execution with broader business goals effectively.
