HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems. The HVDC market for large scale transmission and offshore wind is booming as an enabler for the global energy transitions. All these projects are classified as very critical infrastructures and hence cyber security requirements and standard compliance is very high.

Your responsibilities
- You will lead planning, scheduling and efforts for all project and tender phases.
- To timely provide the Project Manager, and the Line Managers,with Earned Value Management Analysis, with look ahead, reliable and comprehensive information about the project status: schedule, progress, planned, actual, forecast, resources and productivity, trends, and risks.
- Should have strong scope management skills to drive projects and tenders within HVDC service.
- Analyzes project requirements with project/tender team, checks that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules.
- Defines, jointly with the project team, project work and cost breakdown structure, develops and maintains properly linked, required resource-loaded/integrated, baseline and current schedules that provide time-phased baseline, actual and forecast data for the project.
- Monitors project progress and regularly analyzes project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, notifies the project team of any deviations or scheduling issues, and provides input for optimizing resources.
- Issues progress reports, program updates and productivity data on a regular basis and as requested by customers and stakeholders.
- Contributes to Sales and Operation planning (SOP) at HVDC Service
Your background
- Experience in planning and/or cost control on lump sum projects or equivalent.
- Thorough understanding of logical sequencing and interfacing of project execution activities in EPC projects
- Ability to lead planning and project controls activities in multi-location EPC projects.
- Experience to plan activities and monitoring execution schedules and physical progress in all project phases.
- Experience in cost management, including cost estimate input from departments, comparing estimate input to experience data, ensuring compliance with time schedule.
- Strong communication skills, ability to highlight key issues and communicate them to management and other stakeholders.
- Team player, with team management and leadership skills.
- Engineering degree and proficiency in English are required, additional language skills incl Swedish is an advantage.
