The Position
The department is growing, and we are therefore looking for a leader to start in a newly created position as manager for the Analytical Method Support Team.

You will lead, coach, and develop a team of dedicated and competent chemists/academics with different levels of seniority, who provide support for chemical analysis of injectable drug products, both internally in the department and globally in QC laboratories by assisting with method-related questions and complex problem solving.

The responsibilities of the team furthermore include implementation of analytical procedures for new injectable drug products in QC laboratories before submitting to authorities, and documentation of analytical methods on marketed drug products and compliance to pharmacopoeias and external requirements, amongst other things.

Your main tasks as manager for the Analytical Method Support Team will be to:

  • Set direction for the team and empower employees
  • Focus on the performance of the team and ensure the correct prioritization of tasks
  • Ensure that the team has the right resources and competences at hand
  • Support your team in both personal and professional development

Moreover, networking, collaboration with team members across Novo Nordisk and searching for inspiration and new ideas will be part of the activities. A few yearly traveling days might be expected.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Method Support & Transfer which is a unit in the department consisting of two teams, Analytical Method Support and Analytical Method Transfer, as well as a few specialists.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you:

  • Have a masters’ degree within life sciences or similar and perhaps a Ph.D.
  • Have several years’ experience within chemical analytical work
  • Ideally you have some years of management experience in a laboratory environment
  • Have gained experience within the pharmaceutical industry or other GMP regulated environment
  • Have strong communication skills both in spoken and written English, and you can communicate in Danish or have the desire to learn it

On a personal level, you have proven strong leadership with ability to inspire and motivate others and empower your team members to deliver excellent results. You can prioritise, coordinate and plan ahead, while keeping focus on achieving the goals also through collaboration.

Finally, you are creative and see the opportunity in new ideas and thrive in a changing environment with ambitious deadlines.

About the Department
Analytical Science & Methods is a department in Aseptic Manufacturing Science and Technology (AMSAT) and consists of approx. 70 employees organised in 5 teams. We have a central support function in relation to chemical analysis of Novo Nordisk injectable finished products under development, as well as our marketed products. We are responsible for analytical testing techniques such as chromatography – HPLC/UHPLC, Container Closure Integrity testing – Dye Ingress/Helium Leak Detection, pH measurement etc.

The department is responsible for validation of analytical methods for late-phase development and marketed products and thereafter for the following transfer of the analytical methods to our QC laboratories across the world. We also support our colleagues globally with analytical knowledge and scientific help as well as drive optimisation of the analytical methods. Furthermore, the department is on a journey involving scouting, testing, and implementing fast analytical techniques that can reduce the lead time for analysis with the ambitious long-term goal of real time release testing of injectable finished products.
