EVP Communications Partner - ESG & Business Transformation

DFDS A/S

Apply for this job

DFDS is looking for an experienced, driven and proactive Communications Partner who can offer strategic support to the leaders in our Sustainability and Decarbonisation teams as well as our Ferry business division. Our goal is to communicate the business growth and transformation as well as our transition towards a greener, fossil-free future both internally and externally.

Are you passionate about leadership communication? Are you motivated by finding innovate solutions for improving corporate and internal communications? And can you bring business strategy to life by translating it into concrete and meaningful stories and action? Then you might be the ideal candidate to join DFDS. We are a listed, international transport and logistics company with 17.000 employees across 20 markets. And we have been part of the proud, Danish shipping tradition for more than 150 years.

Our team
In close dialogue with the business, we act as their communications advisors, while we work as a team to improve and transform our strategic communication and channels across DFDS.

Reporting to the Head of Group Communications, we are a lean, skilled and efficient team of seven senior communications professionals who work together to cover the breadth of our business and geographical presence. That means we offer an exciting workplace with high variety in work and an ambitious environment focused on continuous professional and personal growth. Based in our brand-new global headquarters (located in Nordhavn, Copenhagen), we are part of an international and dynamic culture, focusing on high performance and achieving results through collaboration and teamwork across our business.

Who are you?
Ideally, you are an experienced communications professional who easily juggles being an advisor for top management and producing quality content for our internal and external channels. You can translate business strategy into concrete actions, leadership advice and communications deliverables, and have stellar organisational skills and an uncompromising eye for detail when executing the plan and developing content.

You are an energetic and positive self-starter, who thrives in a team with versatile tasks and where your entire communicative toolbox is put to work.

You are the ideal candidate if you can say ‘yes’ to the following:

  • hold a master's degree or equivalent in journalism, communications or business administration.
  • have a minimum of five years of experience within strategic, internal and external communications - preferably from a large international or listed company in a complex industry.
  • thrive working in a fast-paced, international business environment with a broad range of stakeholders and tasks.
  • bring a creative storytelling sensibility to every project with a strong track record in producing high-quality, crisp messaging and content.
  • have a strategic mindset and strong business acumen and are quick to gain in-depth business understanding in any situation.
  • are ambitious and proactively influence decisions to enable efficient and engaging communications.
  • are an experienced communications advisor to senior management, including substantial stakeholder management experience.
  • outstanding English communication skills (verbal and written) is a prerequisite, and experience with SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 suite is a plus.

Key responsibilities:
As part of our team, you will develop and drive strategic communications and deliverables for our Ferry Division and Sustainability and Decarbonisation teams. You will work as a trusted communication partner and advisor to the executives and senior managers in these teams.

Other areas of responsibilities include:

  • Ensure strategic business priorities are communicated effectively across internal and external channels.
  • Develop, drive and execute communications and content plans for the business (including developing the content – in writing and digitally).
  • Drive social media engagement for the business and relevant senior leaders.
  • Facilitate communications training of key stakeholders and spokespersons.
  • Develop and improve our strategic communication channels and platforms throughout our organisation.
