Director of Global Procurement Excellence
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as Director of Global Procurement Excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for spearheading strategic improvements in procurement processes and digitalization to drive efficiency, cost savings, and value creation across our organization. You will lead initiatives to optimize supplier performance, enhance procurement technologies, and establish best practices while overseeing key metrics and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will champion innovation and sustainability in sourcing and supplier management, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our procurement operations.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
- Setting the Purchasing Excellence Strategy and roadmap based on the input and needs of the Purchasing entities and overall Purchasing strategy, including vision and direction for further use of data & analytics, digitalization and automation within Purchasing - execution accordingly
- Purchasing systems ownership, development and management, drive towards global alignment of digitalization across all Purchasing functions
- Global ownership and optimization of the P2P (procure to pay) process striving for 90% PO adherence
- Development and professionalization of a data driven forecasting of price/cost development and risk assessment
- Manage and execute Purchasing data-, process-, and systems projects through comprehensive use of project management principles in close cooperation with Direct, Indirect and Capex & MRO Sourcing as well as stakeholders
- Secure strong focus on stakeholder engagement with Direct and Indirect Logistics, Packaging & Capex Sourcing and P2P as key stakeholders
- Organizational development securing the right capabilities matching the overall Purchasing Strategy
The ideal candidate for this position should have proven leadership experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a strong track record in procurement excellence, including successful strategy implementation and process improvements. Additionally, the candidate should possess strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and executive leadership to align procurement objectives with broader organizational goals.
To succeed as Director of Global Procurement Excellence, you should have demonstrated expertise in procurement best practices and tools, including in-depth knowledge of procurement frameworks such as S2P (source-to-pay), spend analysis, and contract lifecycle management, as well as the ability to effectively utilize procurement technologies like ERP systems (SAP R3, ECC, S/4Hana) and e-procurement platforms (Coupa, others).
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills are essential, with proficiency in data analysis, cost modeling, and the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization while ensuring quality and supplier performance. The ideal candidate should also have experience in change management, leading transformation initiatives, implementing procurement excellence frameworks, and driving efficiency through methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches.
