Programme Manager – Humanitarian Response and Mine Action (HRMA) Programme, South Sudan

DanChurchAid (DCA) is seeking a dedicated and visionary Programme Manager to lead our HRMA Programme in South Sudan. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in one of the world’s most challenging and complex humanitarian contexts.

As Programme Manager, you will report to the Head of Programme and have overall responsibility for overseeing the planning, strategic leadership, operational delivery, and growth of the HRMA programme. You will manage resources effectively, ensure compliance with financial and administrative processes, and coordinate the logistics and operations. The position requires strong leadership, people management, tact, communication and organisational skills. You will lead a dynamic team of over 6 staff members. Your strategic vision, leadership, and ability to navigate a volatile context will be essential for success.

We Are Looking For:

  • Leadership & Management: Minimum 3-5 years of proven leadership in humanitarian and development related programming in insecure environments, focusing on results-based management.
  • Programme Expertise: 7+ years of experience in humanitarian action in volatile contexts, ideally in South Sudan. Substantive experience in CVA and protection programming is a requirement. Experience in humanitarian mine action, ideally integrating peacebuilding or livelihoods, is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong in grant management, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and compliance with standards.
  • Fundraising & Advocacy: Proven success in donor engagement, proposal development, and securing funding from reputable institutional and private donors.
  • Partnership: Knowledge and experience in partnership-based approach to programme management
  • Networking: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholder
  • Adaptability: Resilient and comfortable working in volatile and multicultural environments
  • Education & Language: Relevant Master’s degree preferred; fluency in English required.
  • Travel: Willing to travel within South Sudan to support field operations.
