Head of Financial Accounting

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for the global service delivery of financial accounting products to the Ørsted business. You’ll lead a team structured in regional responsibility teams primarily based in Warsaw and Kuala Lumpur, with additional teams in Ireland and the US.

You’ll be part of the Financial Accounting function where you, together with your colleagues, will provide financial reporting products for both group and local purposes. We are part of the Ørsted shared services function Ørsted Business Services which delivers a range of high-quality services to the Ørsted business through scalable, standardised, automated, and global processes. You’ll play an important role in:
- fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that motivates and drives both your managers, and your team members, empowers them in daily decision-making, providing challenges and guidance
- overseeing delivery of the department’s products, maintaining a high level of performance, and accountability by determining and ensuring the necessary resourcing requirements linking to the tasks
- collaborating effectively with relevant senior stakeholders, especially your main counterparts within the Financial Accounting & Controlling organisation
- challenging existing structures and financial accounting processes constructively and regularly, with the purpose of improving delivery, quality, and ultimately efficiency
- communicating and enacting the vision of your department in its journey towards further centralisation of service in financial hubs, standardisation, and automation of products and consistent global ways of working.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have considerable experience in the leadership of an accounting, reporting or controlling department, both in leading others and leading leaders, in the context of a multinational company
- have a technical accounting, controlling or audit background with practical experience of working local financial statements and in/with audit and managing the end-to-end audit cycle
- demonstrate resource planning, setting performance expectations and creating and optimising relevant KPIs to ensure a high quality of services and timely product delivery to the business and ultimately value creation
- have extensive experience and confidence in stakeholder management, understanding the short/mid/long-term needs of both internal and external stakeholders and translate these into tangible actions and results
- are an experienced communicator and presenter, speaking and writing English fluently.
