Job Description
As a Senior Economist in Deloitte Economics, you will play a leading role in developing high-quality research and thought leadership that has a lasting impact on the Danish business environment and public policy landscape. Your work will elevate Deloitte’s reputation in the media and among key stakeholders while influencing strategic discussions across industries and sectors. You will also contribute to delivering cutting-edge solutions for our clients in economic advisory and sustainability economics.
This is a newly created position, offering the successful candidate a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping Deloitte’s emerging economic research unit. As part of this effort, you will help define the direction of our research agenda, establish best practices, and contribute to building a team that delivers impactful insights and thought leadership. Your work will lay the foundation for a dynamic research function that drives innovation and positions Deloitte as a leading voice in the Danish and European economic landscapes.
In this role, you will make an impact by:
- Lead the development of thought leadership initiatives that tackle critical economic challenges and shape public debates in Denmark and beyond
- Design and execute original research that informs business strategy and public policy, including reports, white papers, and media-friendly insights
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Deloitte and external networks to identify emerging trends and opportunities for impactful research
- Advise clients on strategic economic questions, sustainability initiatives, and data-driven decision-making
- Contribute to Deloitte’s global research agenda, ensuring alignment with local and international priorities
You will be anchored in our economic advisory unit where you will mingle with fellow economists and political scientists. While your primary focus will be on designing and executing innovative research projects, you should expect that your knowledge will be solicited in support of our advisory activities too. This role offers the opportunity to engage with high-profile stakeholders, influence key decision-making processes, and position Deloitte as a thought leader in the Danish and European economic landscapes.
Qualifications
We are seeking an experienced professional with a passion for research, innovation, and thought leadership. You should possess the following qualifications:
- A PhD in Economics, or a related field; or alternatively a Master’s degree with very strong research experience from reputable institutions
- Experience in economic analysis, research, or consultancy roles, with a proven track record of producing high-impact publications
- Expertise in designing and conducting rigorous research, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies
- A robust quantitative toolbox with the ability to deploy it in the relevant coding languages and a knack for adopting emerging technologies (e.g., LLM)
- Exceptional communication skills both in English and in Danish
