Service Engineer for Field Services, Lystrup
Terma A/S
Terma is facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. In ground, sea and air, we are engaged in reaching new frontiers and enabling people on our planet to deal with new and upcoming challenges.
Therefore, we are currently looking for a Service Engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.
Team and Role
In the position as Service Engineer, you will become part of our department Service & Support (TSS), which is responsible for all after-sales activities within the business units Aeronautics and Surveillance & Mission Systems. TSS also provides significant support to our Surveillance & Mission Systems (SMS) business unit in connection with the delivery of e.g. Naval and Security systems.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the execution of installation, commissioning and service/support of both hardware and software, testing of Surveillance & Mission systems, including repair and maintenance of electronic components and mechanical work.
In technically challenging tasks/projects within Field Service, you will help ensure that the work is handled smoothly and carried out correctly in collaboration with the Project Departments in both TSS and SMS.
You must be able to take responsibility for planning and reporting related to travel activities, including travel preparation for the specific task in collaboration with the Project Management teams. This includes independently handling bookings for flights, hotels, transportation, visa applications, service reports, etc.
Your daily workplace will be in Lystrup, Aarhus.
Qualifications
As a minimum, you have a background as an IT and Electronics Technician or similar with several years of experience in the installation, configuration, commissioning and testing of technical solutions – including the preparation and use of technical documentation.
You possess extensive knowledge of IT, hardware, and software, as well as a basic understanding of network and communication systems. Additionally, you have an interest in assisting colleagues with installation, configuration, and general servicing of all TSS-supported systems.
You are proficient in English, both written and spoken, and it may be an advantage if you also have knowledge of other languages.
Personal profile:
- To be the right fit for the job, you must first and foremost be practical, have a good overview, and be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The nature of the tasks requires that you are able to work independently and, most importantly, in a team. You can work systematically, thoroughly, and according to established procedures but are also able to think outside the box when no procedure exists.
- The role also requires that you are a proactive problem-solver with strong communication and collaboration skills, not just in Denmark but worldwide. Common to all tasks is they require you to be outgoing and service-minded. It should be expected that your workday may at times feel hectic, with many simultaneous tasks and rapidly changing areas of focus.
Some assignments take place outside Denmark, so you must be able to travel, as the role requires 60-80 days of travel activity per year. The job can occasionally be physically demanding, and you must not suffer from a fear of heights, as work in tall antenna masts will occur.
