The Construction Platform Manager is an integrated member of our dynamic and engaged Platform, Product & Operational Readiness ‘PPOR’ team, which is part of Onshore Execution – Site Readiness & Optimization.

The PPOR department is responsible for Construction and Service scope in the development framework of new turbine platforms in Wind Power by the PLM@SGRE process. The PPOR Team own and manage the governance of the Operational Readiness Phase in the Service Execution Standard and act here as Project Management partner for Service contracts. Furthermore the team governs the Global Readiness Community across Onshore Execution Regions and ensure application of best practices and fostering strong regional collaboration.

As a DD Construction Platform Manager it will be your responsibility to support the introduction of new Direct Drive products, technologies, and installation concepts to ensure their seamless integration into Commercial Project Execution. The key responsibility will be the allocated responsibility of the DD Onshore Platform as dedicated PLM Program Manager to maintain platform readiness and align with project goals. Furthermore this role is a combination as DD Construction Platform manager and Technical Support Manager for the APAC Region in Onshore Execution.

  • In the role as DD Construction Platform Manager you will be required to have a deep understanding and application of the PLM@SGRE process as Construction contributor for the Onshore Construction domain. You will be required to manage DD Construction Platform deliverables as required in the domain.
  • In the role as Technical Support Manager for Region APAC you will be responsible to support project development of the DD Platform in APAC including technical documentation and support. You will act as focal point in the region for construction specific topics for technical needs identification, communication and coordination with Project Execution colleagues in the region.

In general you will be expected manage your time and efforts within both roles and drive synergies in the engagement on both global- and regional DD topics. And in general to establish strong collaboration with stakeholders through positive attitude, cross-functional collaboration, and high level of communication.

How to contribute to our vision
The interface and collaboration with global functions and regions within Wind Power and the Construction teams is key to the success of our PPOR team. Our team consists of Platform-, Project- and Operational Readiness Managers with strong experience of driving improvement activities all based in different geographical locations within Service.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Coordinate input to product and platform development process representing Construction domain in the process with close interface and collaboration with Onshore Execution regions.
  • Ensure products and platforms are matured for Commercial Project Execution (documentation, tooling, parts materials, training requirements, resource requirements etc.).
  • Solution Engineering Project Manager with responsibility for the Construction deliverables from PLM@SGRE including budget responsibility for the scope associated with construction domain.
  • Recommend changes to product and platform design and perform necessary risk assessment including escalation of potential risks in Onshore Execution on Construction topics.
  • Contribute to the Construction Platform Management governance model in PPOR and execute relevant SteCo meetings as required from the stakeholders and from the governance model.
  • Provide Construction Technical Support for Region APAC as an integrated member of the Project Execution, Construction, Technical Support department.
  • Provide Technical support for DD Project Execution topics related to Construction in Region APAC and act as focal point to the Global Construction departments.
  • Manage construction installation concepts, strategies and support on topics like technical documentation for WTG assembly and train the construction project team as required within the region.
  • Manage close interfaces with the Sales team in order to provide technical inputs from the DD Platform experience and contribute with inputs on the Project Execution Planning efforts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Product Management and/or consulting experience, ideally from the wind or construction industry. Experience of product management or operational transformation is an advantage.
  • Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change are important aspects to make a difference. Technical skills, finance skills and working with business cases are important factors for the successful candidate.

What are your qualifications?

  • University master degree in engineering, supply chain management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or natural science
  • Ideally 5+ years in a management consultancy or strategy department of a large or mid-sized corporation with experience driving transformation projects
  • Wind Turbine technical knowledge pertaining to the Direct Drive Technology and preference having worked with Siemens D3 Wind Turbine Platform
  • You are able to manage multiple roles and tasks based on prioritization and preference to candidates with a project management certification
  • You gained insights in the area of project execution in construction projects business (wind service industry / large scale infrastructure project background is an advantage)
  • You are structured and demonstrated strong problem solving skills (strategic, quantitative and organizational / process assignments) taking a holistic end-to-end perspective
  • Proven track record in product management, and the ability to communicate and interact with colleagues and collaborators at all levels in a large, complex and global organization
  • Experience / certification in Lean / Six Sigma methodologies in order to drive continues improvement concepts and problem solving processes.
  • You have shown ability to implement and bring concepts to live in a fast moving and changing environment. Passion for change management.
  • You are committed to deadlines and show ownership on your assignments
  • International work experience e.g., as part of an international project team or working abroad: Including strong English proficiency and preferable experience working with colleagues in Asia-Pacific.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude, open to feedback from peers and managers and willingness to learn and develop
