As VP of Product, you will be responsible for leading and driving the growth of Playable's talented Product team, ensuring the continuous innovation, enhancement, and maintenance of the Playable platform. You will guide the team through the product lifecycle - from ideation to execution - while fostering a collaborative environment that maximises productivity, innovation and collaboration - both in the team and with the rest of the organisation. You will ensure that the team works efficiently, is aligned with business goals, and stays responsive to customer needs. This role requires a strong background in tech leadership, and a hands-on approach to managing software development.
Today, the Product team consists of six colleagues covering a Principal Engineer (Aarhus), Senior Backend Developer (remote), Senior Frontend Developer (Aarhus), Frontend Developer (Aarhus), and a Junior Product Manager (Aarhus). The team is currently under joint leadership by our Co-CEOs.
The Playable platform is built on Laravel and Vue.js (having transitioned from Angular.js back in late 2021) with AWS server setup. We offer 30+ customisable game concepts and more than 40 native integrations with CRM systems and analytics/tracking tools to more than 650 customers globally.
This role is ideal if you would like to play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy, driving innovation, and fostering strong collaboration between teams across the organization. The role includes
- Leading and mentoring the Product team, ensuring they are empowered to succeed and grow in their roles, and breaking down the roadmap and bigger projects into smaller daily operations and priorities
- Being a technical sparring partner, taking part in technical problem-solving and providing hands-on guidance, prioritisation and leadership, fostering a collaborative approach to technical decision-making
- Driving the continuous professional development of the team through coaching and feedback
- Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to shape the long-term product strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals, market trends, and customer needs
- Owning and refining the product roadmap, breaking down strategy into actionable plans and ensuring prioritisation of initiatives with the highest technical and business impact.
- Having a hands-on approach to scoping, managing, and prioritising projects based on the roadmap and business objectives
- Ensuring clear communication and alignment between the Product team and the wider organisation
- Establishing effective communication channels between the team and customers, collecting valuable feedback to inform product decisions
The ideal profile has
- 5+ years experience from a similar leadership role - preferably from a similar Martech platform where user experience and data security is key
- A track record of successfully leading and growing technical teams, including Backend Developers, Frontend Developers, and Product Managers
- Expertise in developing and executing product strategies, roadmaps, and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience in mentoring and coaching developers, fostering an environment of learning, accountability, and collaboration.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders
- Technical understanding for SaaS development
- Full professional proficiency in Danish and English
- High business acumen
