The Commercial Excellence Department consist of four main service areas: Pricing Excellence and Commercial Insights, Tools and Processes, Tender Management and DFDS Way of Selling, and it plays a fundamental role in ensuring optimal performance of the entire commercial side of DFDS (Logistics and Ferry Freight).

DFDS Commercial Excellence (CommX) is responsible for developing and implementing commercial direction incl. strategies for pricing, sales and customer engagement.

By working with specific commercial excellence initiatives, we aim to optimise our commercial efforts towards customers and thereby have a positive impact on DFDS topline and market share.

Our Commercial Excellence team is on the lookout for a Commercial Excellence Specialist to support its continued development and the commercial transformation in DFDS.

About the role

Your focus will be to support the Commercial Excellence team in achieving its ambition “To become a trusted partner, helping sales representatives improve efficiency, performance and customer impact, through process excellence, insights and learning.”

You will have the opportunity to be part of high impact projects spanning across CommX, with main focus on: Pricing Excellence, and Tools and Processes. This entails, but is not limited to:

  • Analytical work incl. problem solving, data analysis and business cases
  • Reports development and maintenance
  • Driving insights through data and data visualization
  • Driving projects forward incl. project planning and implementation
  • Implementation of solutions and best practices
  • Involving, sparring, and coordinating with key stakeholders
  • Presenting key findings to management and other senior stakeholders

Example of projects:

  • Development and implementation of specific commercial tools, sales processes and solutions
  • Internal sales reporting optimization and alignment across divisions
  • Analysis of commercial customer contracts, agreements & bookings
  • Roll out and implementation of Contract Management system and the like
  • Development of a new and improved pricing system
  • Market research & Commercial insights development and maintenance

Through this work, you will be exposed to senior stakeholders across Europe and occasional travel to onsite locations may be necessary from time to time.

You will have your home with the Pricing Excellence team, however, as tasks reach outside this team and into Commercial Excellence, you will in this hybrid role work closely with our Head of Commercial Excellence. You will be reporting to Victor Skov, Head of Pricing Excellence & Commercial Insights.

About you

We think that your background into the role can be many, but we imagine that the ideal person will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant 1-2 years professional experience e.g., within management consulting, business development, strategy, finance, or similar. It is an additional benefit if you have experience with logistics and/or Commercial Excellence.
  • Master's degree for instance in business administration, economics, finance, or strategy, but could also be from a technical university
  • Experience with Excel and PPT. It is an additional benefit if you have experience with Power BI
  • Passion for data and driving value through data
  • Passionate about process improvements and ensuring implementation of these
  • Full professional proficiency in English

The position is located at our headquarters in Copenhagen, just 5 minutes from the nearest train & metro station and therefore offers great opportunities if you are commuting from outside Copenhagen.
