Do you have the talent and potential to develop machine learning applications for market leading food processing equipment?

We are expanding our activities within machine learning for our highly advanced processing equipment for the food industry. Therefore, we are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer with a good background in software development, that can contribute to the development and implementation of new and existing machine learning applications at Marel.

As Machine Learning Engineer, you will be a part of a professional software engineering team, and work closely with our skilled Software and Computer Vision Engineers. We are on a journey with development of machine learning solutions and you will play a central role in ensuring that Marel continues to lead the global market.

In the position you will:

• Be part of a team that is leading the buildup of machine learning and AI competencies within the organization.
• Be a part of building and maintain Marel’s AI computer vision platform solutions.
• Work closely together with other innovation teams on a global level on machine learning solutions.
• Be responsible for development work together with our innovation teams.
• Investigate and incorporate new and existing technologies into our technology stack.
• Collect, consolidate and challenge the requirements from stakeholders.
• You will focus on supporting solutions for the development teams in industry Fish, Meat and Poultry. You will work closely with your colleges in technical centers in Garðabær (Iceland), Aarhus & Støvring (Denmark) and Boxmeer (the Netherlands).

Qualifications:

• We expect you to be curious, communicating and have a desire for gaining new knowledge, in order to build Marel’s machine learning competencies.
• You have a Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science with a focus on machine learning, data analysis, and/or artificial intelligence.
• You are proficient working in Linux.
• You are able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Are result-driven with good analytical skills.
• Innovative thinking and eagerness to solve known problems with new approaches.
• Proficient English skills.

It will be an advantage if you have experience within software development using Python, C++, JavaScript, HTML, Computer vision, and Cloud Platforms but it is not required. An additional bonus is if you are familiar with ML Ops way of working, embedded and/or real-time systems.
