The position
We are expanding our Precision Medicine & Biomarkers department with an experienced scientist and/or physician scientist to drive the implementation of precision medicine and biomarker strategies across our late stage clinical development programmes, spanning phases 2-4.
You will work closely with key stakeholders in global project teams and in the Diabetes and Obesity therapeutic areas (TA) to develop plans and tactics aligned to the strategic project and TA area needs. Providing scientific expertise and leadership, influencing decision-making and building productive relationships across functions will be an important part of your work.
You will critically evaluate relevant scientific and medical advancements and integrate these into strategic project and therapeutic area recommendations. You will further oversee implementation and execution of precision medicine and biomarker plans through internal or external collaborators.
Qualifications
You hold a PhD and/or MD and have at least 10 years experience working with biomarkers in a biotech or a pharma setting. In addition, we expect you to:
- Have expert understanding of implementing precision medicine, biomarker and/or diagnostic strategies in clinical studies.
- Have an ability to anticipate and deliver to strategic biomarker business needs.
- Be proactive, scientifically strong, solution oriented and enjoy the challenges of driving delivery through cross-functional teamwork.
- Have a pioneering, collaborative and curious attitude where learning is enriching and fun.
- Have a scientific or medical background in the area of metabolic disease and an expert understanding how biomarkers can add value to project-, portfolio- and external stakeholder decisions.
About the department
You will join the Precision Medicine & Biomarkers (PMB) team with a growing team of colleagues.
We are part of the Precision Medicine, Biomarkers, Omics & Diagnostic Centre of Expertise (BioPOD) within Medical Science Innovation, consisting of experienced colleagues working with biomarkers across the Novo Nordisk drug development portfolio.
As part of the corporate global R&D strategy and 5D (Drug, Device, Diagnostic, Digital, Data) product solution, BioPOD is a growing area that will drive the increased mechanistic understanding of both treatment and disease supporting a precision medicine approach and potential diagnostic development.
