At ABB, we are dedicated to addressing global challenges. Our core values: care, courage, curiosity, and collaboration - combined with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities - are key drivers in our aim to empower everyone to create sustainable solutions. That's our story. Make it your story.
Your role and responsibilities
Do you want to be our overall responsible welding specialist? You will have a broad and independent role. Your responsibility is of course welding, welding control and welding processes. In practical terms, you have many interesting contact surfaces. You will work with our welders and welding robots in production and ensure that we weld according to the right parameters with certificates and training updated. But you will also be responsible for welding within our ISO certification. We manufacture large and highly complex electric motors in small series or piece productions globally. Suppliers' welding and welding documentation is also something that is in-cluded as part of the responsibility. So if you want to work with complex large motors in a world mar-ket with responsibility for welding for quite different stakeholders, this is really something for you. Our production is located at Finnslätten in Västerås and there is also our service organization, so within the factory you have whole organization that you support. Ensure that our welding processes meet all requirements of ISO 3834 and other relevant standards. Contribute to projects as a specialist in welding processes to support development and improvement work. Review and develop manufacturing documentation such as drawings, specifications, WPQR/WPS and documentation sent to customers. Participate and be responsible for welding issues at customer meetings and project-related meetings Implement and follow up on improvement measures in welding to ensure that the certificate require-ments are complied with. Take responsibility for quality control and documentation of our welding work. Plan and hold internal training for welders and other activities regarding the welding area, certifica-tions, NDT. Work closely with the production team to improve production flows and strengthen quality assur-ance. Coordinate the welding group, which is a cross-functional group that works with improvements.
