Power Market Analysis Intern

Welcome to Transmission Team
You’ll be part of the Power Market Analysis Team, a subset of the Transmission team, where you, together with your colleagues, will assist in the analysis of electricity market data, including historical and forecasted congestion and curtailment. You will have the opportunity to support the collection, cleaning, and processing of large data sets for nodal models. You will work collaboratively with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to assist with data manipulation utilizing Python, SQL, VBA, and other programming languages as necessary. You will develop market price heatmaps, dashboards, and reports. Additionally, you will share your insights through technical reports and presentations. As a team, we are driven by innovation and collaboration. We are passionate about improving grid operations and market efficiency using advanced tools and methodologies.
You’ll play an important role in:
- conducting data analysis to analyze and benchmark market data to identify market price trends
- supporting the development of nodal models for congestion forecasting using Python, R, or Excel
- assisting in creation of dashboards and heatmaps to visualize energy market data
- performing scenario analysis to optimize power flow and grid operations
- preparing technical documentation and delivering findings to stakeholders.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have a foundational understanding of power systems and US Energy markets
- possess strong modelling and analytical skills and are proficient in tools like Python, SQL, R, or Power BI
- are familiar with renewable energy integration and grid optimization
- demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
- are a collaborator who looks forward to taking on new opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
