About the role
The role is being the direct leader for Technicians and Operational Scientist, +15 employees in total. The team members are driven by the ever-changing manufacturing pace, always keeping high focus on safety and quality, and enjoying a great team spirit. The team has expert knowledge of the process and the GMP requirements. As team leader for Microbial Downstream Manufacturing, you, and your fellow team leader colleague, are responsible for our Microbial Downstream Manufacturing, operating 24/7, hence some shift work will be required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure daily production in a safe work environment and in GMP compliance. Safeguard housekeeping standards and represent the department during audits/inspections.
- Planning- and coordination of work, board meetings and shift plans.
- Leading, motivating, and coaching your team. People management. recruit and onboard new team members, assess performance and support people development.
- Safeguard the learning organization, secure training is in place and conduct process confirmations on the shopfloor.
- Problem solving, continuous improvements, optimization, and standardization of work processes.
- Being part of the Microbial Manufacturing leadership team, where key focus areas include excellence in daily operation, high reliability, and optimization to prepare for our future.
- Being a role model for AGC core values and AGC leadership values.
To lift these responsibilities, you and your team will work in close collaboration with other teams within Microbial Manufacturing; the Microbial Upstream Manufacturing team, the Production Coordination team and the Filling team and with several other parts of the organization such as QA, QC, SCM, Engineering, Manufacturing Product Support and Mammalian Manufacturing. You will report to the Director of Microbial Manufacturing.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a “can-do” attitude and is happy to work in a fast-paced environment. You are curious, have strong interpersonal skills, social and emotional intelligence, is a team player and encourage development within your team. You have strong leadership- and team management skills, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally within an organization. You engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels and communicate clearly and effectively. You are flexible and motivated, and excel in high-pressure periods, maintaining an organized and results-driven approach. Preferably you have some of the below competencies/experiences:
- 5+ years leadership experience.
- Experience from the biopharmaceutical industry, working in a GMP environment.
- Understanding of microbial downstream manufacturing.
- Technical or academic degree within bioprocessing or similar.
- LEAN/continuous improvement mindset.
