This role is based in Denmark or Bangalore, India but we are open to hiring in other global office hubs.
The position
As the Head of Platform Landing Zone, you will lead the strategic development, implementation, and management of the tech stack that drives seamless data flow from source systems to the global data and AI platform. Your role will be critical in enabling business value through efficient and reliable data orchestration while ensuring compliance with global standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Platform Landing Zone team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Design and implement a scalable, automated tech stack aligned with the GD&AI platform roadmap and business objectives.
- Drive integration of preferred tools, frameworks, and libraries to create a cohesive and functional data ecosystemon the Global Data & AI platform.
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards, such as FDA, GDPR, and HIPAA, while embedding robust security and privacy measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business needs and strategic goals.
- Monitor and optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining high performance and avail-ability.
- Foster team development, recruitment, and leadership, maintaining an inspiring and psy-chologically safe work environment
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we imagine you meet most of the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or re-lated disciplines. A PhD or MBA is a plus.
- Extensive experience in data orchestration, data engineering, or related roles, with a proven track record of leading and implementing data tech stack initiatives.
- Solid Experience in setting up and managing storage, network and security on Azure and AWS cloud providers
- Solid Experience in DataBricks native ingestion (streaming, incremental, batch), proficient data bricks data acquisition technologies like flow connect, auto loader, DLT, delta shar-ing. Experience in managing MFT tools for file transfer on enterprise level. Experience in using third party ingestion tools like Five Tran, StreamSets, Informatica, etc. for managing data ingestion on enterprise level.
- Experience in using Terraform for delivery infrastructure as a code. Familiar with Git Hub support for CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant certification in cloud engineering, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar.
- Extensive experience (5-10+ years) in data engineering, platform management, or related fields, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
- Experience of pharmaceutical data ecosystems and regulatory requirements such as FDA CFR Part 11, GxP, GDPR, and HIPAA is an advantage.

The Global Data & AI Platform Engineering department at Novo Nordisk is a newly established and strategically integral team dedicated to building and enabling the Novo Nordisk Global Data & AI platform. This platform is designed to serve and scale all data, AI, and analytics use cases across the organization. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaboration across multiple disciplines, the department drives the development, governance, and optimiza-tion of scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that align with Novo Nordisk’s pharmaceutical R&D, clinical, production, and commercial priorities.
