Associate, Flagship Fund - Investment Management

About the team and the position
You will join a highly motivated international group of best-in-class colleagues with exceptional experience in investments in energy and infrastructure assets. The Investment Management team has a direct impact on the long-term success of CIP and works closely with other local and global teams within CIP.
As an Associate in the Investment Management team, you will manage CIP’s investments (e.g., in renewable energy generation or transmission) through the project life cycle from late development, construction and operations phase whilst also driving commercial optimizations and manage risks throughout the funds’ lifetime with a focus on Australia.
Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:
- Providing detailed analytics with a focus on the investments’ risk mitigation and value creation initiatives including for example financial, technical, contractual, or commercial related topics
- Delivering high quality reporting to CIP’s senior management and investors on the investments’ performance
- Close interaction and collaboration with the local companies and project partners to support and optimize project delivery
- Preparing material for decision making on senior management level
- Interacting closely with the senior team members in the Investment Management team
You
We are looking for an Associate holding a degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Law. 1-2 years of work experience within investment/asset management, management consulting, or financial service industry is a pre-requisite.
Key qualifications include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of corporate finance and accounting related matters
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English and ability to turn complex issues into simple and understandable solutions
- Advanced skills within Excel and PowerPoint are a requirement
- Ability to drive processes proactively and independently managing multiple on-going tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience with managing complex stakeholder environments and interacting/communicating with senior management
- Self-starter who takes ownership, drives processes forward while navigating in a fast-paced environment
