Head of Model Validation
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll be committed to strengthening its Risk Management framework. As part of this effort, we are establishing a 2nd line Model Validation team to focus on Trading & Revenue related 1st line models.
Welcome to Group Risk Management
You’ll be part of Group Risk Management where you, together with your colleagues, will be providing independent reviews of the various Trading related valuation, optimisation, forecasting, fundamental, algorithmic and AI-models.
As a team, we will focus on monitoring model performance and stability, review of model relationships, and testing of model outputs against outcomes.
You’ll play an important role in:
- establishing a Model Validation team with principles, processes, and activities focused on independently reviewing our Trading & Revenue related 1st line models
- leading the roll-out, change management process and communication strategy for a successful launch and implementation
- developing the strategy, technological foundation, and tools required to conduct efficient independent model validation reviews consistently
- setting and maturing the team for personal growth and development while nurturing a strong 2nd line culture.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have a proven track record in model validation for trading or analytical purposes, ideally within the energy or financial industries, and preferably with AI model validation experience
- have experience in a people leader role, and demonstrated the ability to mentor and develop talent, preferably also from a distance
- possess strong communication skills and the ability to clearly convey points in an easily understandable form, with actionable recommendations - even for highly complex mathematical models and assumptions
- thrive when applying your investigative skills and data proficiency, transforming insights from statistical analysis into actionable findings, and can encourage and motivate your team to do the same.
Our work environment promotes a high level of autonomy, allowing you to influence and organize your workday and impact the choice of tools and methods for model validation. The position will be based in our Gentofte office, but you will work closely with great colleagues across the entire Group Risk Management function in Warsaw, Chicago, London, and Copenhagen.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
