Legal Counsel (m/f) – Milan (Italy)

Eurowind Energy is a Danish limited liability company, which over the years has become a leading developer and operator of wind turbine and photovoltaic projects. The company has over 2GW of operating assets under management in 16 countries across Europe and has been increasing its presence throughout the European market, including Italy.

We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to support us in delivering our project initiatives in the Italian market. This job offers you the possibility of being the primary point of contact for legal matters related to development of renewable energy projects (Wind, PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, P2X) in Italy, while working on a fast growth “scaleup environment” backed by a large international group.

Primary responsibilities:
Based in Milan, the Legal Counsel will fit in a matrix structure, reporting functionally to the Head of Legal (Southern Europe) and hierarchically to the Country Manager (Italy).

Main duties and responsibilities are related to the Italian market and include:

• Drafting proposals, contracts, agreements, minutes and other legal documents related, mostly, to renewable projects, including amongst others land contracts (e.g. options/land lease etc.), confidentiality agreements, assignment agreements, services agreements, Development Service Agreements (DSR), Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Balance of System (BoS);
• Drafting/reviewing and negotiating relevant &A contracts/legal aspects of Due Diligences for project development and/or M&A;
• Advising on and securing compliance of the business operations with the respective Southern Europe country specific energy regulatory framework throughout the project development, construction and operation phases;
• Anticipating and managing legal risks in connection with or resulting from the business strategy and operations, as well as contacting the relevant authorities for the projects;
• Conducting legal research and providing advice to the Legal Manager and/or Country Manager;
• Being permanently updated on new energy regulation, in particular in regards to wind, solar and green hydrogen industries.
• Coordinating the Legal function in Italy with the Region and HQ (knowledge sharing, processes, policies, etc.);
• Other tasks related to the above.

Requirements:

• University degree in law, preferably with a specialization in Energy, Real Estate or Administrative Law in Italy;
• 5-7 years of experience, preferably working with a law firm in the Energy sector;
• Experience on administrative procedures for the development of renewable energy projects and/or M&A transactions in Italy;
• Working knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines;
• Is prepared to travel on occasion, mainly in Italy;
• Flexibility to work both with the legal team and the remainder team of the respective Southern markets
• Is fluent in Italian and English, with strong communication skills in both languages;
• Based in Milan.
