Job Description
As an Electronics Engineer, you’ll be hands-on in creating next-generation mechatronic toy systems that push the boundaries of innovation, creativity, and fun, while shaping the future of imaginative play!

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as an individual contributor on the Electronics Engineering team as we explore, develop, and test new capabilities involving the design of battery-powered microelectronics for complex mechatronic toy systems that enable exciting new play experiences.
  • Actively engage in every step of high volume microelectronics development, including concept prototyping, schematic entry, printed circuit board layout, design review, verification testing, design for manufacturability, mass production scaleup, and post-launch support.
  • Hand assembly (soldering, reworking), debug, performance testing of prototypes and engineering samples in an electronics lab environment.
  • Take initiative to expand capabilities of the team as it grows in the 3 major engineering sites in Billund, Boston, and Singapore by qualifying new electronic test equipment, designing & building fixtures, and improving the electronics lab
  • Work with global cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams across Europe, North America, and Asia to design safe, cost-effective, compliant, and manufacturable solutions with high quality in high volumes.

The role of Engineer, Electronics and Power Management is an important individual contributor in the Electronics Engineering function in our Hardware and Embedded Systems Engineering group. This group operates on a global scale within the Play Engineering organization in Product Innovation and Design at the LEGO Group. The role is based at The LEGO Group Headquarters in Billund, Denmark as Play Engineering is expanding to help advance groundbreaking innovations that will redefine the future of play for the builders of tomorrow.

Do you have what it takes?

  • A curious builder with passion for creative, out-of-the-box use of technology as a vehicle to deliver new and truly exciting play experiences to children around the world
  • 0-3 years of hands-on experience in electronics design, development, or test roles that involve hardware development involving microelectronics, robotics/mechatronics, or other similar domains.
  • Understanding of electronics fundamentals including component selection, analog circuits, digital design, DC/DC power supplies, and basic electromagnetic/RF concepts
  • Evidence of strong capabilities in creative technical problem solving in modern embedded systems, coupled with well-balanced people skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with internal and external partner companies
  • Relevant electronics experience is required
  • Ability to travel as necessary, roughly 20-30 days per year

The position is based in Billund, DK and relocation support is not offered for this role.
