The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH) invites candidates for a full time two-year postdoctoral position at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The chosen candidate will primarily work in the “Effectiveness of Psychological Interventions for Common mental disorder” (EPIC) trial together with Professor Stig Poulsen (PI). EPIC is funded by the Quality and Continuing Education Foundation for Psychological Treatment under the Danish Regions.

The starting date is 1 March 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The EPIC trial
EPIC is a randomized controlled trial comparing treatment delivered over 4 months by psychologists in the Danish practice sector with a wait-list condition. 320 clients treated by app. 20 psychologists will be recruited for the study over a period of 14 months. Besides the comparison of symptom change in the two arms of the trial, the study also encompasses studies of possible predictors and moderators of outcome. Currently, a pilot study testing the feasibility of the study procedures and collecting feedback from study participants is being conducted.

Duties and Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will be expected to conduct the statistical analyses of the main outcome study and the predictor / moderator studies and to be the main author of the articles reporting the results of these studies. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the study. This will require maintaining the REDCap database through which the data is collected and being available for practical support of the psychologists and clients participating in the study.

Your competencies and opportunities
Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology or a closely related subject and experience with psychotherapy research. Further, applicants should have strong skills and experience within quantitative methods as well as data management (preferably with experience in using REDCap). It is expected that applicants have published research results in internationally recognized scientific journals.

Terms of Employment

  • Terms of appointment and salary is in accordance with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
  • The salary range starts at DKK 38,575 per month (EUR roughly 5,170) + a 17.1 % contribution to the pension scheme. It is possible to negotiate salary supplements on an annual basis.
