Do you see yourself being responsible for assisting colleagues in-house with technical issues related to development platforms and tools? And would you like to play a crucial role in troubleshooting problems, providing solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction, while working closely with the developers and departments in Systematic? Well, then you might be our new Support Engineer!
The position
You will be working to ensure that services with and on our development platforms and tools are continuously maintained and improved, and that support tickets are solved as they occur. This means, that you will work to ensure all development platforms run smoothly all day by troubleshooting issues, writing scripts for automation, and developing new functionalities for specific uses.
This position is new in Systematic, so there will be opportunities to shape the role to suit your wishes. Furthermore, there will be plenty of time to learn and develop in the role too.
As a Support Engineer, we expect your primary responsibility will be to support all development tools. Therefore, we see your key tasks include:
- Working on support tickets, resolving incidents and problems
- Maintaining relevant platforms by updating systems and installing the latest releases
- Developing minor fixes or service requests for the business
- Assisting in supporting and developing integrations for other systems
- Preparing maintenance plans and scheduling these according to our change management process
- Ensuring enhanced monitoring of the development tools, so events are triggered and we can fix before major impact.
Joining the team
As our new colleague, you will join our internal IT department (ITM). ITM is responsible for providing IT support to all employees and maintaining and developing software development applications, business applications, and IT infrastructure.
The department comprises more than 40 colleagues. Within ITM, you will join our team, which is a small team of five full-time and two part-time colleagues. We thrive in a collaborative environment, so we ensure to deliver efficient developer services and improve the developer experience as soon as possible and with the best possible result.
Your qualifications
We are well aware, that you might not bring experience or competencies within all of the below technologies and applications, and we are prepared to lift your levels of knowledge. However, we are looking for someone, who at least brings around a year of experience in some of these:
- PowerShell, Bash, and Python for Windows and Linux systems
- Jira, TeamCity, Nexus, Black Duck, Bitbucket, and GitHub Copilot
And, then we hope to find a colleague who could be interested in working with the following or someone who is motivated to learn and enhance knowledge of:
- Terraform, Ansible and Helm
- Kubernetes and Docker
- Azure Cloud services
- Monitoring tools
We also envisage that you are service-minded and possess excellent communication skills, as your responsibility also includes close collaboration with various stakeholders. Experience is something you will gain more of as you develop in this position, but if you have a year or so of experience, it is beneficial. Furthermore, you must be fluent in English, as it is our daily corporate language in conversations with colleagues worldwide.
