Objective of the Role:
- Ensure medical-scientific expertise in diabetes for Abbott Diabetes Care ACH (Austria and Switzerland), focusing on the FreeStyle Libre™ product family.
- Serve as the medical-scientific contact for Abbott Diabetes Care in Austria and Switzerland.
- Develop and implement medical-scientific strategies and programs based on current clinical evidence and business strategies.
- Organize and conduct trainings, seminars, and congresses, including serving as a speaker.
- Establish and support a network of medical-scientific experts, KOLs, HCPs, and professional medical societies, with a primary focus on the Swiss market.
- Collaborate with ADC Medical Affairs DACH, EMEAP, and Global Medical Affairs.
- Select, adapt, and implement documents, programs, and concepts from ADC Medical Affairs for Austria and Switzerland.
- Implement special FreeStyle Academy™ elements and events for Austria and Switzerland.
Main Tasks of the Role:
- Provide and apply medical-scientific expertise in diabetology to support FreeStyle Libre™ products in Austria and Switzerland. Collaborate with management and relevant departments to develop and implement business strategies and programs.
- Align and implement training and education courses for ADC ACH employees on medical-scientific topics.
- Perform general internal medical-scientific tasks (e.g., clearances, FMV, VEEVA tasks), support, and administration. Establish and maintain a network of professional societies, KOLs, physicians, and other specialist staff.
- Plan and implement advisory and expert boards, and supervise clinical research projects and medical-scientific projects.
- Organize medical-scientific programs for relevant congresses, including delivering specialist lectures.
- Collaborate with ADC Medical Affairs DACH, EMEAP, and Global Medical Affairs.
- Select, adapt, and implement documents, programs, and concepts from ADC Medical Affairs for Austria and Switzerland.
- Select, adapt, and implement special FreeStyle Academy™ elements and events in coordination with management and relevant departments.
Profile:
- Licensed human physician (or scientist) with doctorate or Doctor of Natural Sciences with Industry experience
- Several years of clinical experience in the field of diabetology and experience in the research-based pharmaceutical industry / medical technology industry, preferably in the therapeutic field of diabetes
- Sound medical-scientific expertise in medicine in the field of diabetology
- Solid network in diabetology, preferably in Switzerland and/or Austria
- Strategic and business understanding, entrepreneurial thinking
- Organizational skills and project management
- Digital literacy and technical understanding
- Ability to work in a team and creative drive
- Cross-functional collaboration and working in matrix organizations
- Fluent in German and English, French working level, Italian optional
